Hello everyone,

Does IL2 1946 model the bomb-sight autopilot that was installed on the Ar-234B? Whenever I go into bomb sight mode I'm still full control of the aircraft, but from my understanding, thats not how it worked in reality.

Instead, the pilot swiveled the flight controls out of his way and then used the bomb sight to designate the target, which the autopilot would automatically fly toward and then release the bombs when it was over the target.

So, if it is possible, how do I activate the Ar-234B's bomb-sight autopilot?

Thanks

are you sure you are in the bombsight mode and not the periscope?

Quite sure. I have to go through the periscope view to get to the bombsight, but I am definitely in the bombsight view.

Basically, what I'm asking is this..., does IL2 1946 model the Ar-234B bombsight autopilot. If so, then how do I turn it on?

There are 2 modes for bombing 1 you can see a black bar which calculates impact point . Then you can use a yellow sight similar to he111 bombsight and activate drop point with autorelease for that you can use level stabilizer on auto and trimm to control.

The plane flies level to the target when you don't use bombsight offset. So actually a autopilot but it does not change direction except you trimm it to do so. Not sure if the historical autopilot was able to fly turns or just hold direction.
