Well, since I have tested a bit too much lately I deserve a 30min break from it.

I just wanted to report some positive stuff aswell, instead of just reporting possible bugs.

In this post a bit down(Link ):

FritzGryphon and Leadspitter posted a clip each.
One wich shows shooting and aiming in the sim and another with shooting and aiming in real life.

Notice how similar the planes sway back and fourth because of the torque on the real clip and in the sim clip.
Several planes in Leadies real guncamfilm misses because of the swaying. likely from trying to correct the aim with rudder.

This might cheer some of u up a bit and also shows this sims similarity with real life from some aspects.

Not bad for X-45 rocker.

I used to hate the new FM for the bobbing, especially since I used the keyboard for rudder.

But now that I have the hang of it, it looks so much better than before.

Guncam, aerobatics, ACM, all looks markedly more similar to historical footage. http://img1.smiliedb.de/sdb11967.gif

I have a microsoft sidewinderFFB twiststick.
I got rid of the excess rocking by adding filtering to the rudder axis, and a little to the other too.
If anyone has trouble I advice to test adding some filtering in the ingame settings. This slows down the movement but dont affect the movement range

For me it looks pretty much the same as in many guncamfilms.
even the white smokey puffs from cannon hits look very similar as in guncam fotage.

Yep, someone recently posted several guncam clips. I d\l them all. This was after 4.01 and while watching them I reallly noticed the sway which I had not before previously. I found myself totally identifying with the same effect in game and realised that the trouble we have in shooting affected these guys too.

I also noticed(and have always noticed) how the enemy fighters tend to be slow to react if caught by surprise, now in 4.01 this slower reaction is more prevalent at least with AI.

If anything proves that 4.01 is defintely more authentic to life the guncams of the 1940s+ are proof!

That the attacked pilot is slow to react may also happen online.
I have myself (although on few occasions) been almost chocked when hit and I remember one situation where I just had checked my above and below rearquarter and some seconds later I heard hard bangs, those couple of seconds of surprize was enough to leave my plane too damaged to steer anymore and the only option was to bale.

I think also a black and white sim-movie may contribute to the realworld feeling because we usually dont have any recollection of guncam fotage in color.

Keep in mind that "playing" the rudder while shooting was sometimes used by the pilot, especially when close-in, to "walk" the rounds on the target. Without knowing for sure, it would be nigh onto impossible to tell if the swaying you're seeing was pilot induced or due to torque reaction.
