I have to work every Saturday.
My contract states that I am entitled to only TWO Saturdays off in a year, and you are very lucky to even get one. On the upside we are shut Sunday and I get a day off in the week.

Funnily enough, the amount of glasses repairs that we have to do on a Saturday is more than the amount for the previous 5 days put together. Most look like they have been stood on, sat on or been through World War 3.

i have a "MANDATORY" volunteer weekend...every other weekend. what sux is that they make us work LONGER on the weekend than they do during the week!

i dont like the fact i am off 4 days a month. and when i am off, there is so much to do around the house, because ive been working 12 days straight prior. repeat, repeat.

but the pay is good. so i can stop *****ing..or find another job...naww. but this is my weekend off YEAAAAAAAAAH!

I work every other weekend dealing with the dregs of society, so my weekends off mean everything, I refuse to do overtime to replace people my emplyees cannot recruit.
Don't make the system work for the management, they get the credit and financial reward, you get the stress and reduced life span.

Or an ambulance driver having to deal with binge drinkers all day evening http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I remember from my visits to the UK that certain groups of britons cant quite seem to grasp the concept of moderation when alcohol is envolved http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

sad but true. But it's always been that way - binge drinking and fighting is documented as an integral part of English life as far back as the 15th century.

Must be the Viking influence http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Until about 6 months ago I worked virtually every Saturday and some Sundays for 8 years and never had National Holidays off. I had days off during teh week which was actually kind of good in some ways as everything was open but not crowded. Never got to see anyone though.

Now I'm M-F with National Holidays and I have to smugly say that it is good.

My sympathies though, fella.

Well now that it's warm out I'm forced to work every saturday outside.......I tell you, having to tan and drink Beck's Dark around a pool with roughly 50 other people is very taxing..

Your lucky, I have to work every Saturday and some Sundays as well... Being self employed I have to work when the work is there and be there on a saturday to catch those people who can't make it on a weekday... The upside is I can choose what I want to do and how to do it and only answer to myself, the downside, I don't half get a b#llicking from myself if something doesn't go to plan... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I hear that. Most of our customers are OK but you get a minority that only seem to exist to make the lives of retail staff (and everyone else) a living hell.
Most of the customers from hell tend to talk to you like you are five years old, but in fact THEY cannot find their arse with both hands.

5 - 1 fer the Wings.

Hahaha what an entertaining game. Calgary acted like a bunch of crybabies with Iginla, McLennan and co. Completely unacceptable, and I'm surprised there weren't any suspensions.

Looking for more of the same tomorrow.
