Good read on an often overlooked variant of the Sabre.

I don't think Havok it meant it quite that literally. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Whether he meant it or not, now is as good a time as any.

"My" 4 20MM armed Korean era jet of choice would be the F3D SkyKnight.

I'm just sayin'.

Thanks for the article Carwimmer, I liked it a lot. Nice find.

I'll gladly take an F9F, F2H or AD for my 20mm fix http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great story on the Sabre though. Thanks

Interesting. Regarding the gases getting into the engine and causing the engine to stop...did that affect the US Navy version of the F-86 as well...weren't those all 20mm armed? Also...what is the T160 20mm? Is that a development of the M2/M3 20mm cannon that draws its lineage to the Hispano? Or is this an all new weapon?

Thanks for the scans, cawimmer430. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I saw a F-86H at the local air show last month, part of the local air museum's collection. I took a couple of pictures of my 4 year old daughter sitting in the cockpit. Unfortunately, I still haven't developed the film.

They have talked about rereleasing it this I know. It may happen in the near future. I know they are developing some really good secret combat sim projects as we speak ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Maybe they will consider multiplay this time around. It would certainly improve sales and the longevity of the game. If BoB II had multiplayer I would still be playing it...be sure.

Don't forget the CA-27 Sabre. Although it only shared about 30% commonality with the American versions, It was armed with 4 30mm Adent guns and sidewinders

goto
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-86_Sabre

and scroll down to the CA-27

Many thanks cawimmer430. I love Sabre jets, F-100 included. I really enjoyed the story as I was reading where his engine was out, he had one going down in flaming wreckage, possibly one on his six, a bunch of bogies close at hand, at 40,000ft. The only thing he really had going for him was his wingman....I thought, thats immersion!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
Keep them coming cawimmer430 you really do some nice posts.
