I got my pacific fighters to play well on my new Vista 64 bit machine. I down loaded some of the patches and installed them in compatibility mode. When I start the game it still shows version 3.0. I looked at the game files and it looks like some were modified on the date I installed the patches. Do you think the patches installed even thought the version number did not update?

Nope.

Once a patch is installed correctly, the version number should correspond with that patch...

Better to install PF in a folder other than the default 'Program Files' as Vista may be a bit too 'safe' to allow changes to files in that folder... new files may be added, existing files may not be changed/replaced...

Instead of a uninstall/reinstall, you could try to copy the game folder to a different place (like under C:\Games), then re-create shortcuts, and apply the patch to that new folder.

Also: Vista Home Premium x64 and 1946 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/1921070116)
Good Luck...

Thanks, this worked. I copied the game to a new folder and reloaded the updates.
