Yesterday I sat in the cockpit of a XF4U-4 "Corsair" and a Republic P-47D Thunderbolt witch is at least to me pretty special. I have to say the cockpit layout in the sim is right on. But the best part on the experience is the chance to talk to real vets who flew them in the war. One flew SBD's,F4U's and F6F's said he started with SBD's until there were no more ships to dive bomb them moved on to the fighters. I think I could talk to these guys for hours but could only ask a few questions many people waiting for a turn. I tell them about the sim but they always look at me kind of funny would love for them to have a look at it. Anyway I posted a couple links to the planes I sat in very nice museum the open cockpit thing is every fathers day. Hope to talk to those vets again neext year.
