Looks interesting. Haven't even tried FS2004 yet but someday ....

I'm thinking of buying it. It would be cool to give commands to wingman and hear responses.

If the B-17/B-25 ever become flyable, it would be awesome.

Scratch that sale. I'll play with shoot first, since it appears to allow sounds to be played when commands are given, which is the same thing, but free.

er... I use a Voiceflux thing. I don`t fly without it. It makes you MUCH faster ie, you see your wingman coming a little too close, "Open formation" and the command is immediate, because you don`t have to select the menu manually. You should see the menu skip through the options (about half a sec, less).

Nothing like being attacked by multiple bogeys and saying, while dodging, "Tower request assistance!"

(incidentally, UT2004 has a voice command that works the same way).

Shoot 1.6 will do what you want, too, SeaFire and Baldie. I use it regularly to give voice commands to my wingmen (like "Help me!")...it rocks!

Only problem with shoot and voiceflux is that they don't respond to commands like voicebuddy.

In VB, you say "Loosen formation", it sends the keystrokes to the game, and then responds to you with whatever you programed for that command... like "Ok, we'll losen formation, but we won't be able to bask in your handsomeness from this distance". Or something similar http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They say it works with FS2002/2004 and other games will be supported soon. Maybe they're just dumbing down profiles and calling that "game support", or maybe it truely does depend on progaming changes in order to work properly.

Maybe I'll email e-dimensional and get the scoop.

Not sure where you got your info from but voiceflux works like this:
1.You d\l the program and configure the speech you`re gonna say to that of FB/AEP.
2. Then you power up Voice, test to make sure it`s working.
3. Start FB/AEP.
4. Make your commands. The AI wingmen respond as they normally do.

So if I understand right, your wingmen/tower will respond to everything you say, ie, they will say "Ok, your worshipfulness" or wahtever.

I never give wingman commands, so I'm kinda a dummy in that regard.

If wingman respond in game, I don't reckon VB is worth buying, since FB's AI are going to respond to you with voice anyway.

Response from e-dimensional....

Question:
Does voicebuddy use 'profiles'? Can I use it in other games
(IL2 as an example) by creating a new config file or something similar?
Thanks.

Response:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting eDimensional. Currently you can only use VB in
FS2002 or FS2004, but we will be releasing expansions for other flight
sim titles very shortly. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with Voice Buddy
and please let me know if you have any other questions. We look forward
to receiving your order.
