Is this any good? I already have FB+AEP+PF installed. Can i install it on top of them without messing things up?

I agonized for years with whether or not to buy BoE, and finally did so this winter after the holidays when I saw the price had come down. I'm very pleased with my purchase and don't regret it at all. JustFlight's price of $15 USD even included shipping from England.

I think the missions are better than the stock DGen campaigns. There seems to be more variety within the campaigns than in stock DGen. I haven't advanced off the Normandy Beach yet in my P-47 campaign but I'm about 28 or so missions into it; so far I've flown CAP, bomber escorts, intercepts and lots of ground attack missions. Escorting C-47s by moonlight was pretty cool, especially with the searchlights coming up ...

Anyhow, you can install BoE over PF 4.04m but be sure to make a backup of the DGen.exe and NGen.exe already in your "IL-2 Forgotten Battles" folder; BoE installs old versions of these programs. I have the current versions ready for you though in this DGen update compilation zip (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2032) which you should install immediately after installing BoE for the various BoE updates. You should be good to go then.

I have BOE and think it is good too. I haven't installed the updates yet.

If you like DGen campaigns, especially flying in or against Western Aircraft, Battle Over Europe is a must buy.

It's a great add-on m8.

After being inspired by reading the above posts. I've just ordered "Battle over Europe", from Just Flights own site.
9.99 including postage in the UK.

Skykat; are the updated DGEN files hosted anywhere else? That site demands registration.

The compilation zip isn't hosted anywhere else. CombatAce is a good site though and doesn't spam you. If you're reluctant to register under your primary e-mail you can always register with a new, free Yahoo e-mail account.

Otherwise, here is the information you'll need for assembling the update(s) yourself:

-------------------------------------------
1) BoE: see end of this thread at JustFlight Forums (http://forum.justflight.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4561).

2) DGen_4043_Update: Ian's thread at SimHQ (http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=144;t=003399;p=1)

3) Latest DGen.exe is v4.0.4.5 -- You can download as a .RAR file from Starshoy at http://www.il2center.com/DGen4045.rar

----------------------------------------------
** Some advantages of the compilation .zip are that it includes the latest version of DGen.exe; all of the files are presorted into proper subfolders; it contains an additional Italian DGen campaign for the desert map; it contains the BoE updates up to v4.0; and the included files are compatable with several other free DGen campaign downloads. Specifically, you should be able to install this and Nimits' TruePacific 0.06c (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2056), GregSM's Enhanced Eastern Front v2 (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2056), and Amagi's Disaster On The Frontiers v1.6 (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_campaigns_dof.htm) all together without conflicts. The compilation zip also has an additional "Tunisia" campaign set on the OnlineMT map and it is inserted into the Italian career.

As others have already stated, it's an excellent addition to the sim. Buy and install with confidence...it won't screw anything up.

The only other add-on I've purchased is "Banzai!" I haven't played a lot of it...but my first impressions are that it's nowhere near as good as "Battle Over Europe."

I would even go so far as to say that some of my most intense off-line missions have been in BoE!
