while a nice idea, it would make for very empty servers. As you say people are used to "fight till the death" so many would die.

Then there are rammers, sniper-gunners in bombers, and also TKers.

It would quickly get out of hand.

Would be kind of nice however...

WarClouds used to to something like that, they had a feature that if you got killed three times, it would kick you and not allow you log back in for five minutes. Not sure if they're still doing it or not.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Still using the 3 deathkick http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Your Pilot Dies or gets Captured 3 times, you are temp banned from the server for 5 mins. Been running that way 4+ years now, don't think it will change.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Good to know. I've recently gotten back online after a long hiatus, and didn't see the deathkick mentioned in the mision breifings and I haven't played long enough in one session to rack up three 'deaths', so I wasn't sure that you were still using it. It's nice to know that you still are.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It is a good idea, but the potential for TKers to get others booted is there unless there is something to boot them for doing it...

Other games eg. Call of Duty series, have timeout in some of their online games if you get killed - you have to wait for the next game round, usually 5-10 minutes. They also have the choice of effects to use on the server for friendly/deliberate TK fire, usually "reflective" (where the shooter suffers the same effects of the damage they are causing on team-mates) or "death". This works fine as a game feature but obviously isn't realistic.

This is where IL2 would suffer as the realism factor would be lost if something similar was introduced.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Nice idea and this is exactly how co-op missions work http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif You assumption is true, it makes people much more careful in combat.

However, as already pointed out, most people prefer dogfighting every minute. So the more you increase the realism, the smaller the player base gets.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Everytime I log in to this site,
my routers logfile tells that
sjl-statistic3.sjl.youtube.com makes a query from my computer.

I have formatted my hardrive and reinstalled my O.S antivirus, firewall and pup-removal program, and the first time I looked at this site, I got this message.

One of the viewings that you did in the past...inserted something bad...I just read a warning about this very thing...a couple of weeks ago in the Kim Kamando news letter http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Did you disconnect your internet service before the format, turn on your firewall...before installing your anti-virus...If so, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'd imagine it's because there are YouTube videos embedded in the IL2 homepage (two or three articles down from the lead news item). Hit this site, and your browser is likely to make a connection to YouTube for the video preview.

But don't let that stop you wearing a tinfoil hat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I formatted my harddrive, installed the O.S installed antivirus (Avast) firewall (Avast)and anti-PUP (windows defender), searched for virus, pups, found no such thing on my drives, wrote pacific fighters on my internet explorer search engine and went to main page pacific fighters
http://pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php
then lots of querys of statics etc etc to photo-bucket and youtube was logged by my router.

Note my post above, there are YouTube videos on the homepage you have linked to.

Try linking direct to this forum and not to the homepage, you probably won't see those hits.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I would say that you should unplug your internet, format, install os, turn on windows firewall...then do your other software including anti-virus....otherwise it takes less than a second to pick up bad things...your firewall will change as you add the one that you want<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

slipBall did you read Spinner's post? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Zug, I think it's just so you can watch youtube video's from the PF homepage that's all.

Hi

First of all i never use format, cos it leaves information behind, on the drive.

I always throw in the XP cd and remove the partition (c=system) , reboot, make a new partition, activate it and then format and install XP.

But spinner is right.
And dont get the messages to much on your nerves. If its something real bad, your firewall or antivirus will act.

cheers

edit: and after you have installed windows XP this litlle proggie will tweak XP good, no calls for home from windows: XPAntiSpy3-Dutch.
link : http://www.xp-antispy.de/XPAntiSpy3-Dutch.zip

its dutch but its easy to understand

Watch out for the mean bugger MSN messenger, only install messenger and not the rest of the toolbarsand funny gizmo. same for google earth and progs of the same. It makes a mess of explorer

I heard that you can only "truly" format using other software. Sorry, but I don't know what that is. I use Linux RedHat 7 to format, not install, my disc. Once the Linux format is done I simply install XP and use the disc to create partitions.

It takes a little more time but at least I know I'm stating with a fresh disc.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
