I had this game a few years ago and never really played it,but i decided to give it a go again,

I have managed to sink a few ships but they are netural or allies,

How do i figure out which flag type to attack?

Welcome aboard, privatepile1983.

You should learn who fought against Germany in WWII. Their flags shall sink in this game.

The game simulates the real political conditions.

Some flags of the aera. (http://www.loeser.us/flags/wwii.html)

This may be useful too. (http://www.teacheroz.com/WWIImaps.htm)

I have being sinking anything with a Union Jack but my renown still goes to -300 after the 1st mission,

I head for AO98 where it tells me there are Target Ships but sinking them reduces my renown,

Isn't the target ship practise scripted before the war starts? I'm on LSH right now and can't check the GWX settings. If you start your career in August 1939 don't sink "allied" shipping - the war has not started yet.

Make sure to sink the correct ordered targets and return to base. Get your renown and qualify a bootsmann. Check your torpedo loadout and start a new mission. BdU will send you to the Rockall Bank region and you should arrive there just in time when the war starts (09011939). You'll get a radio message stating to start hostile actions against british/allied shipping.

I remember when I was a cherry Kaleun. I went hunting off the coast of Norway and sunk everything in sight. Then I get back to base and saw all that negative renown. Then it struck me, Norway was still neutral at the time. What an idiot! Live and learn.
