Olegs own words:
So I'm very interested when you will see J2M and N1K flyable and tuned according these terms...
J2M for example is very close to I-185 M-82 performance... But has overboost..

Its simple...the late war Japanese planes were excellent aircraft that came about under extraordinary pressure. In the Ki-100's case, the plane wouldn't even have existed except for the fact that the B-29's bombed the factory building the Ki-61-II-Kai (whatever) engines.

Gotta respect what they managed to accomplish.

The N1K-1J will be an excellent opponent to the American fighters. I look forward to the balances and variety offered by these new planes as they are made available.

Jacks are nice birds.... great climb, agile in all flight regimens, and you can't beat those guns!!

But then, they ought to be up against B-29s, which is their natural historical adversary.

Of course, I'm only speaking of the J2M3 in Target:Rabaul. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So looking forward to the N1K1s. This is by far the best looking aircraft of the whole set IMHO, and I was really pissed off to discover it wasn't in the flyables list. Awesome that we're getting it.

Also to add - the DM effect where fire starts belching out of the belly of the plane [exhaust port?] looks so much like guncam film of these going down in reality it's amazin'.

I think I *might* just get over not having a flyable Ki-44 when the N1K1 makes it into PF.... not that much ammo on those cannons but it will be a superb ride http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Yes it is, I was wacking a few Georges over Okinawa in a Seafire and noticed this a few times.... it will make a very cool plane to be shot down in http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

N1J2 is widely considered as the best IJN fighter in the war, I really look forward to fly it, and shoot at it as well http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

I know US pilots had ALOT of respect for the J2M

By the way I think the N1K2 is one of the meanest looking planes of WWII

Just look at this:

That is a fine painting. Those are N1K-2J's which have the 4 cannons in the wings (instead of 2 in-wing and 2 in pods) and the wing is lowered to the bottom of the fuselage instead of being in the middle.

Those were even better...I think there was roughly 400-500 built.

The fellow that made the George mentioned that there may also be this variant of the plane. Apparently the cockpit information is even more prevalent on this one than the N1K-1J.

It would be a blast to have the N1K-2J in PF
I read somewere that it was faster than P-51Ds
down low
anyway its a mean looking machine

OK the J2M will be like a I-185 M-82 with overboost, how do you think the N1K will be?
