Although I am the highest ranking pilot in my squad (I am already a Lt. Col), I am not always the flight leader.... And even I am the flight leader, I can't customize my squadmates' skin and weapon...... I think it is impossible, so I have ran into some bugs?

As far as I understand the campaign system you can only customize your own plane speaking of skin and armament options. These options for your wingmen are already written into the mission file by the DGen and cannot be changed by you. You can somehow assign a planetype and a planeskin for a certain unit before creating a new mission, but you'll have to go to the DGen folder and manipulate some setting file by hand. I don't have BoE so I cannot tell you which file has to be edited in which way. Sorry.

I remember I heard somewhere that if you are the flight leader you can choose the skin and the weapon for the whole flight. may be I have a bad memory....

but I really want to customize the skin for my flight, can I do this be editing the ini files of the campigan?

I've posted this link in another post already today. It explains how you give the AI individual skins. Is that what you are trying to do?

I wouldn't join any club that would have ME as member!

Nobody here has mentioned a method that I use-

After each mission I hit "apply" and generate the next mission then exit the campaign and then go to the Full Mission Builder. From there I open up the campaign folder and then go to the US folder (I am playing a P-47 campaign) and look for the folder containing my missions. Mine is called dgen_i_beforeddaydoe3. Your folder will have the campaign name and your pilot name I believe. I open up the folder and it should list all of the missions you have flown listed in order by the date of the mission. I open up the last mission listed by date and here's where you can edit your squadmates planes using the mission builder. Now if you're thinking that it will ruin things to see the mission before hand what I do is this- I know where my home base is going to be on the screen and I cover the rest with a piece of paper so I can only see my base. I zoom in close onto my base area and from there I am able to click on my individual flight without seeing the rest of the map. Next, using the "View Object" menu I am able to select custom skins for each member of my flight or change loadouts, plane types ect... I have even changed my position in the flight (it seems that I am stuck in the #2 position no matter if I have seniority) although I am hesitant to do so because I'm not sure that any stats that I get will be credited correctly to my pilot and instead go to the #3 man. I've done the editing the dgen script thing and find this way less confusing/complicated. Yes, you have to do this after every mission. Hope this can help.
