The MS sims are a bit of a taboo subject around here.. Be careful lest the MS haters come out..

Regarding your question, there may be one or two around here who can help you out. Personally, I haven't tried an MS flight sim since CFS1.

Realair do a very nice Spitfire http://www.realairsimulations.com/home.php?page=home

Shockwave have a series of excellent WWII aircraft. I have the He-219 (which is probably my favourite FS aircraft) and also a pack with a Spitfire, Bf-109, P-51 and P-47. All are much more detailed than the IL-2 versions. http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/

Our very own Gibbage made a good-looing P-38 for FS-2004 (which I guess can be imported to FSX). Can't remember the distributors, though.

Cheers,

RD.

not suure for fsX but try shockwave productions (Spit 1, P-51D and H among others) and realair (superb Mk XIV).

Not really interested in anything more modern than 1945 so can't help you with the f-15 but you'll find Spits and Mustangs at either site but whether they have been updated for FSX I don't know..

I like FSX but it needs a monster computer to run smooth and look good. My box can't keep up with it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

I don't know where you can buy military jets for it. I got two packs: Shockwave's FW-190A series and long nose series. Both of them are very high quality.

This looks interesting http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif:

"Shockwave announces their next air combat game, "The Flying Tigers"

"This is a new kind of air combat simulation, based around the famous P40 "Tomahawk." You are a member of the American Volunteer Group (AVG) hired by the Chinese to defend against the Japanese empire. There are all types of combat situations from scrambles, interceptions, defending convoys on the Burma road, and even attacks on Japanese airfields. Many people don't know that during this conflict there were actually times when American P40's actually flew alongside British Hurricanes, which makes for some interesting air combat scenarios. The more we study this conflict, the more excited we are about this product," said Scott Gentile of Shockwave Productions Inc.

Other Japanese aircraft to be included will be the:

Nakajima Ki-27 "Nate" fixed-gear fighter

Nakajima Ki-43 "Hayabusa" retractable gear fighter

Kawasaki Ki-48 "Lily" twin-engined level bomber

Mitsubishi Ki-21 "Sally" twin-engined level bomber

Kawasaki Ki-45 "Toryu" twin-engined fighter

"The Flying Tigers" is being created for the latest hardware, including native support for dual core processors. "The Flying Tigers" is slated for a 2007 release. "

There's also a healthy discussion about it here: http://www.gozr.net/iocl/viewforum.php?f=38&sid=fae0066...312f23fc0bab35adbd8d (http://www.gozr.net/iocl/viewforum.php?f=38&sid=fae0066774b7312f23fc0bab35adbd8d)

Well then kudos to you-- but you know as well as I do that the MS sims rarely come up around here without at least one harsh anti-MS rant getting posted.

Just Flight's Spitfire is a good one (14 different marks of Spitfire). Look at the link at the top of the page for questions on FSX compatibility, or ask at one of the FSX sites on the links in the above posts.

Well, there're some pretty knowledgeable folks here as regards WWII aviation & simulators in general. I f.ex. usually ask around here first if I have a question concerning, say, FS9 WWII-period AC, because I can be pretty sure of someone coming up with a good answer. Whereas around the FS9 boards what you usually get is a bunch of jet jocks - a great bunch of guys, sure, but generally with little to no knowledge of warbirds...

S! to all you knowledgeable folks around here. You deserve it, y'know http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
