And it makes me ANGRY http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif when people can't get the ships to work, and get mad at him. He works so hard to do these things for us, and all anyone can do is *itch at him.

He is a good friend to all of us, and dont get the thanks he SO deserves.

We need an awards sticky in here to thank all the hard working model Forum people for doing above and beyond the call of duty(Such as BR, RJ for his Screenshot Contest, Celeon999 just for sticking his head in every post and helping out EVERBODY)

Also if I'm correct, the ships only work in GW mod? Since I went to GW, I could install the ship pakage no problem.

BR, I would like to buy you a beer, but I doubt you'd come all the way to "Disneyland" for one. Keep up the good work, no matter what they say about you. And thank you Goose for this Post, I think people needed to see the proof in the pudding. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Also BR, I dont mean to pressure you at all, but are you still going to copy that info from that book?

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif..thanks ..to tell ya the truth...just to prove a point i went and screwed with my sh3/gw sea /roster and and some env. files yes i made it ctd everytime...OOPS...compleate reinstall of sh3/gw raw...updated and pacthed...went to my filefront site and dl'd the ships {yes i have a master on desktop}
i did this to be shure the files/folders are intact ..so ..i then opened the folder ..added the folders ..works fine for me ..iggins did seem to find a fault with the fast transport...???...great..so maybe folks who are having problems will be able to correct the fault {I DIDN'T MAKE THE SHIPS.}..anyway ..goose..i'm happy you have no probs..tudley..ya mon..i'll scan and post the 2-3 pages for you and others to mull over this weekend ....also yes i do keep a master data folder of sh3/gw raw with no other mods other than gw itsef ..but i wanted to walk it through and see if my read me was so hard to read ...

Hey guys I installed this mod as per the instruictions i.e copy paste the sea and roster folders into the data dir, but I've just done my 5th patrol sicne installing this mod and have not seen any new ships yet, visited Liverpool, Bristol. Nothing new. What could be the problem ?

Negative Sir, only the GW1.1 ships are showing up in the recog manual.

install and patch sh3...install gw ...now download the ships zip file...leave it zipped on desktop make a new folder on desktop place the zipped folder in the new folder name it oops..open the oops folder..right click on the ships folder click extract here you will now have 2 folders 1 sea and 1 roster a read me and a file for sh3 commander now click start my computer localdisk c:/programfiles/ubisoft/silenthunter3/data...open the data folder...find the sea and roster folders ...drag and drop each 1 to desktop you should now have no sea or roster in the data folder...good?..ok..now gointo the folder we named oops...now move the sea and roster folders into the data folder...now close sh3 you should be back at desktop?..yes?..now ..if you are using sh3 commander go into start/ my computer/localdisk c:/programfiles/sh3 commander/config/..find the file that is named ship names...move it to desktop now go back to the oops folder and move the file for commander to the config folder ..close the window..i strongly advise you install th ships over a clean new install of sh3/gw not in mid patrol ..i have tried to make this as simple as i can ..however ..as simple as this is to achive it has not been approved by WILHELM SHULZ..as you can see in the post by RJ it took very little time to install and DID NOT wreck his sh3/gw ...the ships collection was not made by me ..i just collected the ships and packaged them for others who do not have the time or knowledge to rip apart bigger mods to get the ships in them..i figured it would save folks time and provide some more enjoyment for all to use.i do not if it will work with I.U.B. or stock sh3 or rub..i assume it should ..how ever YOU are responsible for your own trials..i assume no responsibilty if you system flames ..or other acts of stupidity...if you need some help ask ..

Where might a person find this explosion mod, tuddley3? Will it work with the GW 1.1a mod? It's kinda boring to hit ships with torpedoes see nothing happening to the merchant but it slowing down sometimes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

BTW just to remind everyone I am not part of the juvenile bickering over BR's mod.

I'm just trying to make it work for me.

Finished the patrol now, second 100k (GW 1.1). Gonna reinstall it shortly.

Ok the problem was that the folders were unzipped to the data dir, the zip created another set of sea and roster folders inside the already existing sea and roster folders.

Fixed.

1 bug found so far, while looking thru the museum it crashes when clicking on British Fast transport. FYI only.

They go a long way to add realism and depth. I just made victim of one of the Ammo transports recently. But anyway, these new ships seem more representative than ever of what I've seen in historic photos. Great work.

No bad talk about BR, he is a SH3 hero.

Also, just to remind everyone, BR didn't make the ships, he just gathered various ones, and made it possible for us to get them all in one package. But he is to be commended for all the hard work put in to how we go about installing them. My hat is off to BR. Ok, forced to save mid patrol, have to sleep. EXCELLENT first impressions of this mod ! Adds so much more flavor to the game, IMO it is a MUST HAVE MOD. I'll surely never play again without it.

If you are intersted in a small improvement, you could fix the zip file so when you extract it, it does not create a second directory but instead overwrites the directories which need to be replaced. Might save you some trouble with the tech n00bs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It's also much simpler that way.

I also finished my 2nd 100k patrol with GW1.1. With this mod if those big ships are to be found 100k patrols will be the norm !!! Can't wait to see some of those big fat BBs and Liners.

BTW does this mod change the escort configuration for enemy convoys ? I ran into a convoy with only 2 corvettes as escort, which was REALLY unusual.

Does the mod change the spacing interval between columns in convoy ? The convoy I intercepted had 250m spacing between columns rather than the 750-800m usual spacing in GW 1.1.

Well, I got this mod today and it's nice having a greater variety of ships, in fact almost every ship I saw on tonite's patrol was a new type.

Also I like the "sweet spots" overlays.

However... did this make every ship unkillable? I managed to sink THREE ships with THIRTEEN torps!! I even ran OUT of HE ammo for my deck gun trying to kill a Rose Something Cargo ship and a coastal tanker! That ship was the size of a torpedo and took two torps and 180 shells to sink. :/

And yes, I was firing at the waterline and all along the whole keel. Even circled around to hit the other side. The ships tonite were just stupidly hard to sink. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif One Medium Cargo took 5 torpdeos and like 18 hours to sink. I'd submerge, wait a few hours, up and it was still there. Grrr!

I have noticed the same problem with those two ships in particular. If I ever see the coastal tanker I normally turn the other way - not worth the ammunition expenditure for such a low return in tonnage. Mind you I will go as far as 3 torpedoes for the Rose Castle Ore Carrier - it's worth over 8K in tonnage.

What bothers me the most is the sinking time for the ore carrier - ore carriers were supposed to go down in seconds due to the weight of their cargo. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Hi. I'm AG124, although I had to use the name AG_124 on this forum as the name AG124 wasn't avaialble. Anyway, I made many of the ships in this mod, including both the Rose Castle and Coastal Tanker. I know what the problem is - when I released all of these ships I included a .zon file with 2160 hitpoints for some NYGM/GW compatibility. This causes vessel to be very difficult to sink, but it can be fixed. You could use TimeTraveller's MiniTweaker to reduce the HPs to 400, but there is an easier way. I will upload the correct files here - just paste these two files in the folders NRC_ and NCOT in your Date/Sea directory.
