Hi People,

I€m new here, and this is my first post!

I recently bought the game in advance, before my new computer arrives. I would really appreciate your advice, on what kind of performance I will get from the game on this setup.

1) Windows XP Home Edition
2) ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mainboard
3) AMD Athlon 64 4000+
4) 1024MB PC3200 DDR (400MHz) at 100
5) 200GB Serial ATA (150MB/s) Ultra Fast Hard Drive
6) 2x 256MB nVIDIA GeForce 6800 PCI Express - SLI configuration
7) Creative Soundblaster AUDIGY 2 ZS
8) Creative Soundblaster SBS260 Speakers

If you could give me some hints and tips to get best performance (what settings to turn on and off) that would be great!

Also I have an older computer (2 year old) that has sound problems, even with a modern soundcard (Audigy 2 ZS). I have sound pops and clicks when playing, mainly, 3D games on my old computer. I€m pretty certain the sound problems are due to the motherboard being inadequate (ASUS A7N8X-VM not a gaming MOBO), trust me I have tried everything else over the past 2 years to get rid of sound glitches (I mean everything!!). Does anyone have a similar MOBO and soundcard (as my new rig), and if so what are your sound settings, sound experiences, and do you have, or have had any problems in the past (fixes)?

If you have any input, no matter how small, please let me know, thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Maxorator

That setup is quite a bit more powerful than the setup I have been using since March when the game was released. The game runs beautifully on my lesser system, so it should skate on yours.

To increase game performance, follow the Windows tricks/tips posted in the thread below. Good luck and enjoy!

Get a 30%-40% boost in SH3 perf. thanks to these tweaks:

One note regarding the Performance Tweaks thread, which is hyperlinked in my posting above:

For ATI Radeon users: I have found that the latest Catalyst control system (v5.7) of Radeon drivers, when set to the 'Restore Factory Settings', provides the biggest performance boost of all, compared to all other attempts at tweaking graphics card settings.

The Windows tweaks could then be applied on top of the v5.7 Factory Settings.

I can't knowledgeably claim the same for nVidia, but of course one should always (when opening a new computer out of the box) go get the latest drivers and give it a try. Make a Restore Point before downloading and implementing those new drivers, though.

The game will work great for you. But just make sure you have a DVD drive, this game will not work on a CD drive.
