Im just curious as to why this happens? Im sure in the original IL2 the aircraft remained and you could see how many got back etc...

Is there a way in which this can be done in FB? Or is it a way to free the game up when running on the PC??

Cheers

Pretty sure it's to save system resources wile running the game.

No, to prevent them from crashing into eachother, which has negative effects on your campaign...

They were always crashing into each other prior. That and the fact you couldn't use your ramps to place static objects on. Kind of made having an airfield beyond a runway pointless. Much better off and safer without them about.

They still plow into each other in my copy of FB. I always land first at an empty airfield so I can end the mission before they try to "land" or whatever they think they are doing as they plow their a/c into anything in sight!

I've never had them plow into eachother in FB, but I do get sick of waiting for a spot in landing order so I land on the taxiway or I'll land long over somebody.

This did not use to happen before. It was the 1.21 patch which made aircraft dissapear seconds after they landed. I would get so pi$$ed off because I liked to see how many of my comrades returned from the mission. I guess they changed this to save system resources.

I don't know why people even mention static objects. If there's one standing on the ramp, the AI WILL crash into it, no matter how many of the planes are there before. You just needed to figure out where the planes taxied and not place stuff in those locations. I'd say immersion is more important than a dead wingman in the campaign.

Meh..... this has been discussed so much that it's not even interesting. I do still hope this gets fixed though.....
