Hello.
At OZFB we are running large 32 player coops but would like to run maybe upto 64 player coops, is this possible by a few changes ?

Any information on this would be appreciated.

I think it is possible. Just stick in 64 flyable aircraft, and get people to fill the slots and see.

Best way to find out, I'd say.

you probably can add 64 players as flyable planes, but if you host a co-op, maximum number of players is 32.. Meaning you can't go above that, no matter how much you would like to.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Not so, I'm sure I have flown in coops with more than 36 players. There were a number who took gunner positions in bombers. I think the final number was 40 players.

I already brought it up to Oleg, if this not require too many changes we might see a bigger number. No promises tho.

Thanks fellas, will be very interesting to see if we can get more players in, with DSLAM out these days the lag problems are no longer an issue, we play 32 players useing ScorchedEarth with hundreds of units all over the map, apx 30 planes per side and the game is as smooth as silk, very impressive realy.

We found a cut off point for lag/warping if there was over 1500 units moving on the map and the net rate OVER 14.4k, at 14.4k the game is extremely smooth (99% australia clients),we havent tried the 1500 units with 14.4 yet but i am sure it would be smooth as well.

If you guys can figure out how to use SEOW in the dogfight format (dunno if you can already), you can host a lot more than 36. The Finns on Virtualpilots are regularly hosting dogfight events with 100+ slots, or something.

This would be interesting to see. The reason I think there is not already 64 in coop is due to the added bandwidth used by the AI pilots.

I was under the assumption that IL2 was capable now of 128 players, the limitation being HL and bandwidth......You can currently however select 64 in HL, or "type in any number", However 32 not able to get a slot need to join through the backdoor......

However, in the Host game selection screen in IL2 it states "32" as a maximum.....I'm not sure that really applies as it may be possible to exceed that, the number just not stated...

Don't know for sure, but may be worth trying in the interim.

Billfish that works for Dedicated Server.
Seems there is a hard coded limitation for Normal Host.

I would say remove all restrictions max players open for df and coop for future developements.

Even Commandline refuses to work.
