As far as guns go do you prefer the 50cal heavy american fighters or the more common MG/Cannon combo? And what's your favorite combination?
I personaly can't stand the 50cals. I've been spoiled by cannons and now I'm having a hard time going back...

well the Axis 7.62, 7.92, and 20 mm cannon seem to have low muzzle velocity so those are a challenge to use.

6, or even better, 8 .50 calibre MGs are usually really effective. I like that setup and almost any VVS setup for a gun platform. The worst US gun/plane combination is, in my opinion, the 20mm on P-38.

50's are my fav's..2nd whould have to be the 12 303's on the hurricanes. Its always nice to see all that lead flying at your target.

The M2 shreds the IJ aircraft in the PTO. Their effectiveness in the ETO isn't as solid though.

My favorite weapon overall is the Shvak cannon in the La5/7 series.

Thats half the fun in the ETO..Sizing up a FW and letting him know you are there. I like playing with my kills i guess.

i prefer the 20mm or the 30mm mk 108, gotta be carefull with the low muzle velocity and the disgusting bullet drop over 200m but 2-3 hits and wings come off.. and my very favorite runway pothole maker is the 4 30mm in me 262, why shoot em down if you break their legs on take off.

Nothing irks me more than the 303 in the hurricane, yes lots of lead and lots of debris but many a heinkle has made it home riddled due to my spray and pray, nose to tail technique.
