The hyphen between "Rolls" and "Royce" appears to be missing.

Otherwise I'm favourably impressed, though it is always sad to see a beautiful aeroplane in such a state of disrepair...

I note with interest that this aircraft embodies the wing stiffening mod. If I had my serious books with me I'd be able to date it from that; but since I don't I'll have to leave that particular joy to somebody else.

Detail to that degree will put a strain on any PC. But it does look nice.

Construction of K5054 began in Dec 1934 and her maiden flight was on 5 march 1936. This one however, may take a little longer....

Not sure about the coefficient with all those potholes in the skin.

Is that from the much mooted, often discussed but rarely cited BOB SOW?

Did Slipball design that himself, or is it from the Oleg "work in progress"?

Looks great either way....but nicer if we can fly it.

Spotted the other thread about the update from Oleg...so that is the work of Oleg!

Surely thats a display of total model damage.

With two flak hit in the wing root like that and still intact, the lufties will be moaning already.

whats the diagonal gash through the cockpit?

But seriously, I love the way the damaged metal curls up and not just flat holes anymore.

Yeah, but wait till you see the DM of the 190. A bar, a seat, some petrol fumes and it's STILL flying.

They do look great!...I'm wondering if the canopy will show damage when viewed from the outside

I hope a few of you realize that the damage state here is probably the top level of damage for all sections of the aircraft so no it has not been hit by a giant Nazi Super 12 Gauge http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Looks incredible mind you...just stunning level of texture work and a fair few extra polys over what we're used to. The people shuddering about their PC's should remember that once again allot of the splendor from such a shot is texture work. The model counts too and it looks to have quite a few extra polys than before but whats really impressive is the textures. The engine in particular!

Well actually it's not - you can see it if you expand the pic on the 1C site.

Oh, wait! were you being facetious? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Just a scratch. The aircraft will still keep its top-rate performance until the wings fall off! Sorry, Lufty-lads.

No, just Emil MG-FF supplied ventilation. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

MG-FFM, to be exact - Minengeschoss, introduced during the summer of 1940.

'Probably you'll never see such many big holes at once, like on these pics of Spitfire. And it isn't due to hits of bullets. It is due to flak and hits of shells.
From bullets we will "draw" actual(exact) places of hits. This you will see not so soon and already in the 3D engine together with other types of damage.
Main was to show missibg in flight aerodynamic panels of engine, etc.. It wasn't so rare in real aerial combat.' - Oleg Maddox

If I understood Oleg right, the holes pop up where projectile hits, so that each MG hit produces a small hole and each canon hit makes one of the bigger hole. This means it will be possible yo shoot a poor plane to rags!

all I can think of when I see that 1c BoB Spitfire is FPS....

what it will take to fly such a detailed image in simulated combat, over stunning scenery and through marvelous atmospherics?

It will be years before all the switches can be thrown and 35-40 FPS realised with that kind of detail - I don't think my wallet can take it.

It looks like we have almost a year to save up...Oleg said that by next spring/summer he should know the minimum computer spec's just to play "BoB SoW"...

Bundle up for a long winter http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

I beg to differ! I was online the other night and that was a accurate representation of what my aircraft looked like! (And that was just taxing!)
