Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the integrated version of PF will be released to New Zealand? I have just been communicating with a local supplier who says his understanding is that it will only be the stand alone version.

Does anyone know officially?

Cheers,

Interesting. I have not heard talk of a stand~alone only FP box. Just the mixed option box. It could make some sense, but then we also hear that future FP and FB patches and/or addons will be mixed, but then...this can get complicated...

Or the local supplier may not know about the product. That happens alot too, well at least up here in USA.

But if the past is any guide, NZ will be the last Global European nation to recieve anything in a box. I heard it took a month or two to get AEP down there in NZ.

Yep, that sounds about right from memory.

the average computer/console game store employee knows next to nothing about the flight sim world here in NZ

they is ignoramususesesesss

he prolly was meaning that PF is going to be its own game , in its own box without realising the games history or anything of its ability to be installed over a fB install

BTW we will probably have to wait 2 months AGAIN for it to show up here in NZ so ill be doing what i did with AEP . . . .. . DL it off the net while i wait for my pre-order to show (i own 2 copies of FB 1 legall copy of AEP & a burnt DLed copy . . . . . cos no way in hell was i going to be kept waiting TWO WHOLE MONTHS ! ! ! ! ! )

Sure this isn't confusing "Gold" version with PF??

If not, I'd imagine when you get PF home and install you get a screen come up saying "Install PF only" or "Install with AEP" then presumably if you chose the latter it would check the registry and install accordingly.

How it's actually formatted I don't know, but I know from the beta test version you just install the files into the original's directory and it goes using the new screens, so I'd imagine it would basically do that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

As for NZ, well, it all depends on how long our Censors office takes - remember this potentially has "sensitive issues" like kamikaze, which in the post-Sept 2001 world has been put in a new context....

LEXX_Luthor, your memory is good mate. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif It took us two weeks longer than the rest of the world (so five weeks long than the US) to get AEP. I hope they aren't going to pull that stroke again this time (giving US three week head start), as PF is aimed solely at the US market as it is....

Gamesman still says 15/10/2004, but even UBI says November....if we aren't carefull it will reach the censors office just in time for them to go on Xmas hols and we won't see the damn thing till January. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Note: While I was checking the date for PF I noticed a headline which led to this:

"Word has come through today from the local Vivendi Universal distibutor that Leisure Suit Larry: Magna *** Laude for the PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2 will now NOT becoming to the NZ shores. Reasons being something to do with the game need to be a rated product, so costs of the rating vs quantity required to sell....."

That's a little worrying, because AEP had a "G8" - Low Level Animated Violence rating from Australia (Yes, we have to wait for Australia to classify PF before they send it to NZ!!!!!!, then our Censors have to classify it. DUHHH!!!). So get those pre-orders in, otherwise UBI will us the excuse to avoid shipping to the South Pacific altogether.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Ok thanks guys. Seems I've not read enough on the distribution method for the two install types.

I understand now.
