Hello, Im new in the forums and also relatively new to Il2.

So the question is this, what is the dif. between the mentioned aircraft when it comes to the fighting? Either I don't fly it right or what.. My fav is the 109 G2.

I just can't kill anything with a 109-G10 and I don;t wkno what I'm doing wrong.. but to me the 109G2 climbs better than all 109's.

Enlighten me plz.
BTW I only fly GE aircraft. 109's

G6Late: A G6 with Erla Hood and Galland Armour which improves your field of view to the rear, otherwise identical to the normal G6. DB605A-1 with 1310PS at 1,3ata and 1475PS at 1,42 but it seems we have the 1,3 plane ingame. You can optionally arm it with the 30mm MK108 if you want which in real life didnt mean any considerable weight hit (but is felt in IL2).
Top speed: ~640km/h at 7k

G14: Although it has a higher number it was built before the G10. Basically a G6 with a DB605AM engine and MW50 injection which provides 1800PS at sea level. Far superior in speed and climb to the normal G6 but due to the extra MW50 tank also considerably heavier (~3300kg as opposed to 3150 on the G6). Our G14 has the Mk108 as default hub cannon as it is a Hungarian built model but normally the MG151/20 was more common among these planes.
Top speed: ~670km/h

G10: Basically a G6 with DB605DB engine and MW50 injection providing 1850PS at sea level. Due to the larger supercharger used on the DB605DB the cowling had to be redesigned giving it a more flowing, aerodynamic shape. Superior in terms of speed and climb to both the G6 and G14 but even heavier (~3350kg). As with the G14 we have a Hungarian model ingame which means that the Mk108 is its default cannon.
Top speed: ~690km/h

K4: The model intended to finally bring back standardization to the large number of factories producing the Bf109. Like the G10 it uses the DB605DB with MW50 injection with 1850PS at sea level. However it has several aerodynamic optimizations such as a fully retractable tail wheel, fully covered wheel wells which result in even more speed and climb. On this model the Mk108 became standard.
Top speed: ~720km/h

PS: If you fly either the G10/14/K4 make sure that you engage MW50 either on takeoff or inflight at a very low power setting (normally <100% is enough but you have to keep an eye on your rpms or you will fry your engine)

The later the war gets the more you need to focus on vertical maneuvres. The 109's rate of climb is it's main advantage. If you turnfight with Soviet machines you will end up getting killed, same goes for Spitfires. Against US planes you can usually win any type of dogfight, vertical or horizontal.

The G-6 and G-6 late are certainly the worst of the series if compared to contemporary enemy aircraft. The earlier G-2 is better in turn, speed and climb, and the later are considerably better in climb and speed.
