I haven't even heard a rumor they may be included. But I'd love to have them. I'd also like to see a completed cockpit for the Hawk 75s already in the game. Curtiss Hawk 75s were highly unrated fighters.

BTW, I understand the Nationalist Chinese flew Hawk IIIs but I don't know if they ever engaged in any combat. Do you have any info on that?

I have a picture of a 75 being uncrated at Kunming in 1941 with the Nationalist star on it. Had it. It was around here. Maybe under here--no, that's the dog. Somebody's moved everything. Marge..!

As you can see from the links givin, yeap they did see action and a lot of it. Many kills were claimed while flying the HawkII and HawkIII. The fighter itself was not that great compared to otheres but I just like it. I am also building an 82% Scale P-6E Hawk and a friend built the Navy Goshawk (allied verson of HawkII).

If you dont mind me asking what type of power plant are you using and are you making the wings yourself or are you using a kit or a company to make them .

Hawk_9th,

All the info is on my web site.
www.curtisshawkp6e.com (http://www.curtisshawkp6e.com)

...but to answer your question;
The powerplant will be a direct drive chevy 383 Stroker.

Wings are scratch except for the lazer cut ribs.

There are some other steal parts that can be purchased in a lazer kit.

Let me explain,
The original designer and builder passed away several years ago. He offered a partial steal parts kit as well as the lazer cut ribs. When he died, the company that that built these parts were unknown to anyone other than his wife. After pursuading her, she finally gave me the information. There are no plans for the ribs themselves so all but about 4 plans owneres had no wings!
Thus the reason why I created the web site. There is only one Hawk flying with one other ready to fly. There is about three others that will be flying withen a few years. Half of the plans owners are still unknown. The widower would not release the names of the 44 plans owners. SO there are still builders out there that dont know the web site exists o=nor do they know the names of other builders. There were only three builders that knew each other.

SO not only do I enjoy this game but this UBB and other UBBs are an advertisement to help find long lost Hawk builders.

Wow! Curtiss, that's amazing. Except for scale and engine, how close is your plane to the original design. I know you have to use modern materials.

There is really no comparison other than the "curvs". Thats a little too much to explain. The one I am building is actually a two place (hold two people) In the pic, I have yet to cut out the hole in the front cockpit combing. Remove the front windshield and install the cockpit cover, you cant tell it hold two people.

If you thoroughly through my web site, you can comapre photos with the "real" Hawks. The site is dedicated to both scale (not models) and original Hawks.

The photograph below is of a sclaed Hawk that is a one of a kind. It is NOT built from "our" plans. This Hawk is very much scaled to "oroginal design". If you look close at pics of this one and of the original Hawks, you can see detailed scalling from the ailerons to the tail light on the rudder.

Very interesting...keep up the good work. I'll check out your site when it comes back "online" so to speak.

Oh, and Chimp, I'd love to see the Hawk 75s in game with cockpit too...
