Actually, with two computers, I have a choice of the Nvidia ti4600 and the ATI 9800 Pro, both with 128Mb. The 9800 is fast but needs a lot of TLC (I spent all morning clearing out my old drivers and their residue before installing the 4.11s-they seem to rock), the ti4600 (that's the one with 4X AGP) is rock steady & still has what it takes, but it doesn't have the fps of the 9800.

cheers

GF4 Ti4200, 66.93 drivers. Drivers were a beast to install (unusual, they usually go in real smooth) but gave me nearly double fps over the Omega 56.72 I was using up 'til yesterday. Now getting around 38-40 average as opposed to around 22-25 previously.

9800 Pro 128MB here - running at default XT Speeds (flashed with a 128MB XT BIOS to unlock a bit more http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif) runs quite nicely although not as healthy as it was before my PSU died http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif not got time for an upgrade yet - was going to do the whole lot (gfx, mobo, ram, CPU etc) since my insurance wrote them off, but cant be @rsed building ALL the components again (expensive!) so I think I'll go for a partial upgrade, i.e fix the bits that are poorly (namely RAM and the 9800) CPU is a 3.0 prescott so I should be ok for a while....

9800 pro mildly OC'd. So far the 4.12 betas have made me ease up on my current "I need a 800xt NOW" trip.

Its really east to get greedy with all the great offerings both ATI & Nvidia keep putting forth but I recall a day in the not to distant past when I saw this funky black plane buzzing over PZK's in a snowfield on a game box, took it home and installed it, started up my 440MX with 256 ram and said to my self "I don't know what a Lagg3 is but my god thats beautiful"

I've got an ATI 9600 Pro with 128meg memory.

Suddenly a few months ago it started to crash in FB (with updates)and an old DOS game (which gets the cpu as hot as FB does). Tried various drivers, used various driver removal tools (including manually) but no joy. The machine will run fine as long as I set the bios to X4 instead of X8 AGP. I was wondering if I might have some heat damage? (Only because I can think of nothing else & it was a hot day when the card threw a wobbly).

eVga 7800 GS CO Superclock at the moment. And an eVga 7900GT KO Superclock here in a few days. Decided to go PCI-E while the AGP components still have a decent resale value. Actually, the 7900GT KO Superclcokc is alot more card than the 7800 GS CO Superclock, but the 7900 is about $40 cheaper in retail because it is in PCI-E. Getting a faster card and breaking even on the $$$ is hard to pass up.
