Rome hasn't been confirmed yet. However, many people, me included, predict that it will be in the game.

I just hope the cities will be bigger than AC1 either that or a couple of extra cities as the cities in AC1 seemed small when you got running on the roof tops.

Yes it will. Cornik said so.

Wait. I have the THEORY that Rome will be in the game. Just like when at the beginning of July I had this other THEORY about carriages and chases in the tuscany. Remember, just a theory http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

That's the thing about theories. Communism worked in one.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif o-u-kay... That hadn't crossed my mind...
But now that you mentioned it... makes sense...
I better Google it(if any popes died back then...)
.... nope, nothin I can find...
Maybe a pope died, but they didn't tell anyone so they wouldn't compromise their reputation...
And they replaced the dead pope with a CLONE!!!

I don't think they'll add a scene of assassinating the pope. Will make too many catholic angry...

Hello? Cardenals? Bishops?

Rome does not only have a pope, but an army of other corrupted men of corrupted families...

But they draw less attention and lessen the climactic sense. Also, we've got confirmation that the Pope is working with the Templars in the game.

And, welcome to the forums.

Geez, I step out into the real world for a few days and I loose track of things around here! LOL
Or I'm just sleepy and can't remember...

Let's just air-assassinate all of them and get it over with. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

The second to last paragraph mentions the Pope giving his blessing to the Templars to go through with the assassination of Medici.(Pazzi conspiracy)

So it does!
I can’t believe Ubi would have an Assassin murdering the Pope! Look at all the trouble the first AC caused within the Arabic community. They wouldn’t want to do it again, this time with Christians… Would they?

thekyle0
09-06-2009, 06:11 PM
I hope they do. It would prove my point that people who take things too seriously aren't smart enough to notice labels such as, "This is a work of fiction."

But that doesn't necesarily mean he has to kill the pope. He could try to and fail. Or the pope could even try to kill him. Oh wait, now we're offending somebody again!

MartaVasques
09-06-2009, 06:14 PM
Absolutely. But you know how these things work. Take the Da Vinci Code, for instance. It is probably the most “fictional <STRIKE>crap</STRIKE> work” of them all, but still… When religion gets involved, things get ugly.

I read/heard somewhere that Milan is in the game I think on IGN

thekyle0
09-06-2009, 06:23 PM
The IGN rewind theater had the theory the setting where Ezio stabs a seeker in the face with a spear was Milan. I don't think it's been confirmed but it definantley seems likely.

I didn’t know I couldn’t say c***. English is not my mother tongue, so I really don’t know if that’s extremely offensive… I apologize in advance.
Anyway, I’m playing Devil’s advocate here. I agree everyone should keep in mind this stuff is fiction. The problem is they don’t. Remember what happened to the Assassin’s Creed books? I was really excited about those. And then… Pfff. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

thekyle0

The word isn't that offensive. It's considered a replacement word for s***. But when you put a "c" followed by 3 stars (***) it implies a different word that is very offensive.

MartaVasques
09-06-2009, 06:40 PM
Okkk… http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

I was never bothered by it...don't know anyone who is. The filter used to **** it though so it always looked like you were saying something worse than you were. Your fine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

thekyle0
09-06-2009, 06:46 PM
I never was either. But what I mean is that it's offensive from an E-rated perspective. Since that's what the forums are supposed to follow I assumed the mods would prefer if we consider it offensive while on the forums.

MartaVasques
09-06-2009, 06:49 PM
I won’t say it anymore... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

I figure its a common enough word thats no longer bleeped it cant be too bad. Ya gotta love a E rated forum for a M rated or 18+ game about stabby stabby http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Edit @MV: Your fine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Don't worry.

Okay I'll be good...back on topic. I hope to see Rome in there. It really seems crazy to not have it. It would definitely have a nice distinct look when compared to Venice and the other one they have shown.

they say that. some catholics r Christians. major difference is Jesus is the only one held in reverance by christians. The pope is esteemed more than Christ by catholics from some of the things I have seen. And they add a few extra things to what the bible teaches.

I think you might have your terms confused. Do you realize that the term "christian" refers to all people who revere Christ? That includes Catholics. There are many other denominations that exist today; Such as, Baptists, Lutherans, and Angelicans. The church started with Catholicism, until a priest named Martin Luther began his own church based entirely on christianity only it excluded the pope. Then there were other divisions afterward in the following centuries.

martin luther actually disagrred with the teachings of the catholic church. it wasnt just about starting a new denomination of the church without the pope. anyway, y r we having a religious debate? isnt this forum about assassins creed?

Fixed that for you. I know people offended by silk. I know people who get offended by excessive inoffensiveness.

Also, back on topic, does the title of the thread make anyone else think "I can has cheezburger?"

rome wouldnt be as good if it is included coz the vatican city that we know it as today, wasnt there coz vatican city was by michelangelo and bernini (i think) and if they were making it, vatican city wouldnt be there or would be under construction.
Your all probably thinking " why is he talking vatican where talking about rome!" lol

you wont see any reference to Vatican city in the game, it didn't exist till the early 20th century http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif and at one point before they moved to Rome the popes lived on the opposite side of Italy meaning the Pope may not even be near the game play area.

I'm guessing the Pope is relaxing in Tahiti before all this happened lol, He has special "not discovered island" access

I would LOVE to know if Rome is going to be in the game. I have a feeling that it's not because I think that would have been a major selling point and it hasn't been mentioned as yet.

I have seen a few videos and articles that ask this question of Patrice Diselets and he doesn't say no. He says that they're trying to keep some surprises for the gamers. This either means A: It's there and it'll be a HUGE surprise or B: It's not in there and we don't want to **** people off.

Also as has been stated Vatican city as it is today did not exist in the 1400's. Construction stated on St. Peter's Basilica in the 1600's. The problem with comparing Vatican City to Rome is that they are drasticly different places. Rome is the city that has the colloseum, the forum, palatine hill, circus maximus, the spanish steps, and about 100 other famous chruches and landmarks. Not to mention it being the capital and the center of the holy roman empire. Vatican City is it's own small country (smallest in the world) and consists of St. Peter's and the surrounding buildings.

Just because Vatican City did not exist in the 1400's. Does not mean Rome won't be in the game. Rome being in the game is my biggest concern right now. Rome is one of my favorite cities in the world and I would really like to get confirmation if it's included or not!! Let's keep searching.

EmperorxZurg

Werlcome to the forums choopius! {now that's 4!!}
yes, but some of the main structures and living areas were constructed already in preparation for the Pope, {they plan WAY too much in advance http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif} but I'm staring to get the feeling that Rome wouldn't play a role because it seems that what the devs are saying is that htere are the 3 major cities we know already, and they are going to sparatically put in a whole bunch of little nameless cities for u to do work in to

Choopius
09-08-2009, 07:35 PM
This thing BETTER HAVE ROME. It's got my other two favorite Italian cities and I can't believe that they would have left out the most famous one of all!! There is too much in Rome for it not to be in the game. Not to metion the fact that it's one of the most widely recognized cities on earth and as such would apply to a much wider group of gamers.

I am REALLY trying to find any sort of acknowledgment or confirmation that Rome may or may not be included. Please everyone, keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for Rome info!!

Thanks!!
