Heh, I was just going to say that Das Boot is the best WWII movie ever, but you beat me.

Enemy at the gates is not so bad.

And check out the "Stalingrad", made by the people behind Das Boot. Same chilling realism and suspense.

There's also 1941, and Top Secret! for perfectly inane WWII comedies
