Pacific fighters is looking great, especially the recent images. Although the markings on the Seafires posed a minor concern, although I don't ever want to be critical of someones work even WIP but the markings displayed on the seafires are not correct for the Pacific theatre to the best of my knowledge there may have only been a few in that theatre with these type of markings but the FAA marking for the pacific had taps on either side of the roundel similar to US markings. By strange quirk of fate if you look at this weekends Hyperscale model website there is an article on Seafire decals for models (my other hobby) apart from being shot down in Il2 FB etc. Another good reference is Wings of the Navy by Eric Brown. Apart from that Im looking forward to it all, what other FAA types can we expect?

Well firstly...they aren't even correct markings for operations in Europe. They are the same ones we have in FB and they are the wrong colors and the wrong type of roundel is used on the undersides. That consideration aside...its likely a WIP shot and they haven't worked on the markings quite yet.

I would assume that they would have that cleared up before release.

the only good thing i noticed from those pics of the seafire (regarding the markings) is that the upper and lower wing markings are now in the right place and the right size. but the ones on the underside of the wing is STILL WRONG, take away that darn yellow band will ya guys!!??

but yeah keep in mind it is still WIP... hope they get it right this time.

Im just happy they've put the seafire and the Illustrious in PF. A colossus class carrier would also be nice and I think there were 6 Illustrious class carriers in the Pacific by the VJ day.

Just to add, the Spitfire XIV served out of India (not sure about elsewhere) in 1944/45 (so please put it inhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ).

yep the mkXIV had its hand in the Pacific too... hope Fievel can finish it up, maybe we will have it in AEP and PF, one can only hope http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

oh and just me getting my hopes up but, im pretty damn sure that the fella that made this Seafire (guy known as "Nyme") also made a mkVIII for PF.

any way u slice it, the spits will be represented in PF, be sure.

It can't be hard to convert and IX model into a VIII model. The only external difference is the tail gear doors AFAIK.

Okay, these are all the pix I could find on me HD. Not much, but better than nothing.

These markings are for the East India fleet:

Here a couple of shots of pacific fleet markings:

This last one is another colour profile, but it's post war (1946), so I dunno how useful it is:
