I installed the GW mod this morning after finishing my last patrol, and disableing RUB. All I can say is WOOOOOOW!! Well worth it. I totaly love the new sound effects, especially the outer door opening, and torpedo launch. The Das Boote crew cheer is a nice touch as well.

Gameplay was'nt as bad as I thought. I lowered the particle density to 90%, and only have some slowdowns in harbour, and when water splashes the periscope. I kinda had this befor, and the game is still very playable. I'm also playing at a higher resolution, so I'm sure that dose'nt help matters either.

On the flip side of the coin, there are a few minor things I could live without. First of all, I always liked the darker water in RUB. Call me crazy, but 200m underwater dose not have the visability of a swimming pool. It just seemed more realistic the other way. Secondly, in the upper left portion of the screen, I have what appears to be the lower edge of a wooden board. I don't mind it so much on the interior of the sub, but when outside on the conning tower, it kinda ruins the immersion. What is that supposed to represent anyway?

All in all, this is a fantastic mod which for me is a definite keeper! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

ok..first there a few mods to change the water colors..sh3 commander is 1 thats easy to deal with..i have 1 off the web posted on my filefont but as you also play in high res ..forget that ..i run at 1600x1200 the mod leaves a template around the sun..but it has some nice lighting effects for night .there a few more env. mods around ..the "woodenboard" is the case around another stopwatch...click on it and drag it down into view.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif theres also some maps and charts up top of the nav screen and targeting screen..

Thanks for the heads up BR. I thought the wooden object was there for some reason, and even clicked on it to no avail. Never thought to click and drag. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
