Hi Guys,

I seem to constantly be waiting minutes for topics to open, which is frustrating in the least. Other forums seem to work perfectly fine, except Ubi one's. I'm using Mozilla and wondered if anyone else had the same probs?

Some posts open straight away and then all of a sudden everything slows to a crawl. Is it a suck *** forum that needs a patch (lol ;-)), or my browser/network here at work? However, I'm experiencing no problems over at Nova forums, just always seems to be Ubi.

I agree...this forum has technical issues that really should be resolved.

Yup, same thing here. I use Mozilla and opera and its pain in the a$$. Sometimes its simply impossible to come here because it freezes completely. Eerr like that is somekind of problem actually. I have nothing to say and too many topics are same old whiners Vs. fanbois BS, gladly there are some great historical or picture links/pictures enery now and then, thats the only reason to actually come here.

So it's not just me then. However, don't you find it ironic that the company (Ubi) that has never produced a game that doesn't require a patch (well at least out of Ghost recon, IL2/fb/pf, raven shiled, athena sword, lock on, silent hunter 2 and 3, splntercell, etc, etc, etc)...

Should also have a forum that is buggered lol.

Oh for a times when software works without patches and forums run seemlessly eh http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What's up?

- Page load times
- Number of items on Ubi IT admin's "To do" list
- Post counts http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For me, it's page load times and the search function is kaput.

Sometimes, but not every time, clicking on a topic or another 1C forum takes a lot of patience waiting for it to load.

Waiting for stuff from the "third CD" takes patience also, so I guess we are mostly a patient lot.

I'm just glad to know I'm also not the only one that has dealt with this, most times I thought it was my internet connection.
must be due to bandwidth usage by people posting screenshots that are 20" X 40" and everyone adding thier two cents worth by repeating themselves in every topic.

I think it's fitting that this should happen right now!

Ubi's servers don't seem to be up to the combination of network load and database size. Performance of the basic forum functions is ok in quite times, but during a busy surge everything breaks.

The search function worked fine for a while, then some settings seem to have been changed and now it's kaput. Based on previous record, don't expect it to be fixed in a hurry.

I don;t think I've ever had the search function work, here or over on the lock on forums. I gave up using it months ago.

I happen to find it extremely frustrating that a company can basically release buggy software and have shabby forums. Where's the professionalism gone? Where's the pride in doing something right?

All gone down the ****ter when some ******* decided that profit ruled over everything else.

It does it with Internet explorer Mozilia *.* . It does matter.
This forum has had this issue for ever.
I come on here sometimes of the day and just leave as you cannot open post. Or you can if you would want to burn up and hour with 2 or 3 . http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wait till you try to do a search on there for something you need to find. Hopeless.

It is something from www.german-militaria.com (http://www.german-militaria.com) that takes forever to load. It could be someones sig pic that is bogging it down.

And pacettid's avatar took forever to load..

IBTL! I made a similar reply to a thread a couple of weeks ago about the dysfunctional search engine and the thread got locked. No disrespectful tone, no name calling, no off color language...just statement of fact. The locking mod told me it was because the topic had been discussed before and would be better addressed to those in a position to do something about it (whoever that may be). Perhaps the moderators give Tully extra consideration, having been a former mod, but I half expect to see this one get clamped as well.

Hummm! Where are you located? I am in U.S., Ohio. I have never experienced the problems you say you encounter. Connecting to and moving around in this form has always been as quick as other sites which is fast. Perhaps your IP is the bottleneck. There is a decent article in this Mays PC World on things to do or check to speed up your internet. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I use Mozilla too, but sometimes Internet Explorer is better. It just depends on the site.

Steve_V, how can you honestly say this is trolling when, over the past three weeks, all the following threads have been locked...all questioning the unserviceable search engine, (although one was obviously meant as a troll)?

As well as your reply to me saying:

"Honestly, posts addressing negative aspects of reality which none alter by input in our commmunity forum, are locked."

Nobody is trying to step on your toes. I've always said that, on balance, the moderators do a reasonably good job of keeping peace in forums that have been known to push the envelope. I have participated in this community since Nov. 2001 and have withheld comment on many topics as evidenced by my post count. This is the first time I've ever been accused of trolling and I resent it. This is the last I'll say about it.
