Dear all,

If you satisfied your curiosity with fantasy planes in teh '46 add-on and started looking for historic missions again, you may be interested in a few eary war missions from Korea, year 1950.

The 102nd COOP dedicated co-op server has been updated to 4.071m for test purposes, and it turned out that the planeset in IL2 '46 can realistically cover the first few months of the Korean war. So if you want to experience this interesting time period, when the best and fastest prop planes mix it up with the early jets, you are welcome to try these brand new missions. Credit for all of them goes to the excellent mission maker, Charlielamb.

Mission list:
01_KOR_Shoestring Airforce
02_KOR_Wonsan Refinery
03_KOR_McArthurs War
04_KOR_B29's over Yalu river
05_KOR_ShootingStar Down
06_KOR_Changjin disaster
07_KOR_Mig Alley

The server is up daily from ~15:00 GMT+1 till next morning ~7 AM during weekdays, and continuously over the weekends. HL name is "102nd COOP ded".

In order to have historic (North Korean) skins, download the corresponding skinpack from http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&get=1523

The Korea missions can be selected by the chat command: DSC MAP Korea

Since this server runs a series of co-op missions, you can start flying when the missions start. Alert for timely join notifications can be received from the status page (until HL can support this feature in next release): http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/status-cmirko.html

TIMEOUT 1 or TIMEOUT 2 problems are solved with the new patch.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Have had a lot of fun in the skies of Korea over the last couple of days.

it really takes a lot of teamwork to fly those Jets well !.

The PY80 is good and a joy to fly (except that oh so temperamental engine !) but it only has 6 50's. (In relation to a recent 'weight related' post.)

The Mig 9 kills whatever it hits basically.

In context and against each other the results are interesting, quite well matched but two very differant styles of aircraft.
