View Full Version : GAME in the UK will not be stocking CoD

I have been getting a bit impatient about pre-ordering CoD from a retailer other than Ubisoft,so I phoned GAME in the UK today re preordering this for the release in March.

I informed them that I could not see any pre-order details on their website and was informed that if that was the case they probably won't be stocking it.This all makes sense as they always have the latest game for pre-order as soon as the release date is given.

So don't waste you're time trying to order through them.Amazon too don't have any pre-order details up yet either so I wonder if they will be stocking it.

It really looks as if Ubisoft is the only option,I have never ordered directly from them before so I'd be very interested in any feedback from anyone who has.

My guess is it will be going up on Steam as well.

Which I don't mind as I'm rather fond of steam. I have a habit of destroying disks.

Me too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I wonder if it has an activation limit, as they're so fond of at the moment? **** that, seriously. **** that.

I've just borked my Windows partition AGAIN installing Linux while not paying all that much attention. "Are you sure you want to format this partition to ext2?" "YES PLEASE LOL". Oops, sda1 was Windows Vista, sda2!!!! was meant to be /boot.
I blame Vista for not wanting to find my router with a bog-standard Realtek 8185, worked straight away once I installed Arch.

GAME in the UK have had the download version available for pre-order for around two weeks now so I can only guess that you mean they will not be stocking the boxed editions.

I dont mind STEAM though I didn't like the idea at first. I was forced to use it for RailWorks sim http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif With that sim it doesn't matter if you have the boxed version or a download version you have to have a Steam account for it to run and for updates and some DLC. One problem with that is if you have tweaked things in the game they are sometimes set back to default by regular updates from Steam.

Website Amazon.de in Germany are taking pre orders for boxed sets of COD but I dont know if they are just in German or multi language yet.

Game UK states- " Cliffs of Dover 29.99GBP pre-order, play on day of release, you'll receive your download, links and Activision code by email on the 23/3/2011 at 23.00GMT." so yet another location, if you would like to have a downloaded version. Cheers. JM.

Do not order from Game, they are a bunch of imbeciles who tried to destroy PC gaming. Buy it online or at a different store

That's cool for you, but I can not subscribe to a company that tries to kill my hobby so they can make more profit on second hand console sales.

So is there no boxed versions available?

Can't seem to find this anywhere accept game which i think is the one place i don't already have an account set up... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

If it's download only, why is it not on steam aswell?
