of some of you people here...
I used to visit this place often, but now monkeys are running the show, and its not funny any more. The tone in your requests for patch and whining about it are beyond any good manners.
You have here a game, which is not perfect, but authors are trying to give you the best they can, and you throw rotten vegetables at them, comparing them to Microsoft. How dare you? Neither, IL-2 and Forgotten Battles were not shipped with bugs, causing the application to shut down, there were some mistakes, which Oleg & team are trying to correct within the magic circle (time, money, resources). Name me one damn game, that didn't get at least 3 patches (don't count here Microsoft games, since they were absolutley "perfect" according to their creators).

I think that small crowd of you, who behaive like spoiled children are turning this threads into a pool of horse ...you know what...

All this points towards a conclusion, that you don't have a life beyond your computer screen...stop watching life only on TV!

You are so damn good experts on flight models, aerodynamics, you all know the airplanes by heart...hey IT IS NOT A RECREATION OF HISTORY, it's a G A M E. A very good one, but still a game.

A bug is not necessarily a problem with code that causes a whole program to crash, like Dali suggests. That's just your own personal definition. I'd consider for example, that a problem where you fire a machine gun, but there's no gun sound to be a bug. The program would still run, but if that happened it would still be a bug. Besides the original poster is whining about people who whine, which is scarcely any better. I could easily be annoyed by whines too, but I simply ignore them like any mature adult. Whiners are only putting forth their opinions, which they are entitled to do, even if this practice may be ill-mannered in some peoples minds. Let people whine if they wish, Oleg gets a good laugh out of most of it, I'm sure.

But you have to place this software in context the other current games out there. I just installed Grand Prix 4 and compared with il2/FB...
-how many objects there are in the game at one time.
-how large the map areas are.
-the damage/crash modelling.
-the amount and quality of physics modelled.
-quality of graphics and the frame rates obtained.
etc.

I can't believe how far behind racing sims (or at least this racing sim.. but I don't know of a better one) seem to be compared with FB. Also, FB has never has never once crashed on my system. I can't think of what the 'lethal' bugs are that you refer to in FB. There are far fewer improvements to be made than any other game I've installed, and Maddox is trying to improve it too; games usually get a crappy update that fixes stupid little things like joystick recognition when the whole game should be overhauled. With FB we have a good, stable, fully-working game (when compared with the other games out there) that is getting an overhaul anyway!

The original IL-2 Sturmovik happens to be my favorite game among all of the games I have, I don't see myself as a know it all but I sure love the original IL-2.

Oleg sure did a great job when he designed this one, I haven't had the chance of playing FB but someday I will.

I was a bit tired of seeing just US and British planes fighting either the Germans or the Japanese, having the Soviets taking the show sure brought a refreshing change.

There are a lot of issues with FB.
These will hopefully be resolved in a few days.
Then the stupid people will have to shut up.
Those who are here on an ego trip and are contributing to spliting the people in this forum to two different camps.
I've never taken sides and cannot therefore be considered a patch whiner or the opposite.
What I may have done is defend those who get attacked for posting a legit opinion.
I just wish people can have fun and cut the crap for a couple of days so WE GET A REST FROM ALL THIS POISONING.

Well I must say that I have been playing games for 20+ years and I have not come across one game in all that time that has not had bugs. every game does and will have bugs. Think yourself lucky that patchs are released. They never used to be and on the very rare occasions they were it took a min of six months to a year to be released and then you had to buy a magazine to get it. No quick fixes before the internet,

We all payed our money. I cant work due to health reasons, so money is tight for me but FB is the best game I have ever bought (bugs & all). If you cant handle bugs in games stop gaming. Or option two is you could just dowload the patch when its released.

I agree with you that some people here need to lern good maners.

But I do not agree that this is NOT A REPLICATION OF HISTORY. This game is not a stupid arcade as, for example, Microsoft's "Crimson Skies" where you can pull the stick and climb as high as you want. This game is a simulation. Players expect the aircrafts to behave as close to the rielity as possible. That is why so many people love this game - for realism.

Other thin: I studdied many history events and aspects only due to this game. I learned what the lifting force is what the propeller pitch is and so many other things only due to this game.

So this game IS RECREATION OF HISTORY.

Most of the people with problems that make FB unplayuable can be traced..not to the software..if that were the case it would be like that on everyones PC or at least most PCs....but to some flaw in the persons setup..drivers, BIOS, SOMETHING. As far as I know most people who have CFS3 have some issues with it that have nothing to do with FMs or eye candy but with the actual running of the sim. I STILL cant play it on my system. My Microsoft joystick flops all over the place..even with the patch. Go figure....give me FB anytime. Even as it is wqith no patch at all it is the bewst d@mn thing smokin.....IMHO of course.

People should understand that when something new is made, how long it will take to get right is not known. The more complex it is, the longer the time scale to get right is and twice as complex is 4 or more times longer, not twice as much. The step from IL2 to FB is such a step or more and they tried to do it what has turned out to be a bit too fast. They are still way ahead of most of the industry for speed and they have a much better product as well so they don't deserve crap!

I guess for people who have little or no experience working on new things that are created rather than copied with maybe a few small changes, it is unreasonable not to have fixed deadlines for when to expect a finished product. Your worlds are like that so everything must be.

Let up on em, have some patience.

And when the patch is released we will get a new wave of threads whinning that the wrong things were patched, it wasn't patched correctly, or the patch 'I' wanted wasn't done.
Then when the planes add-on comes out there will be whines about how the wrong planes were added, they weren't modelled properly.
Thats what is great about freedom. Whinning is considered an opinion and everyone is entitled to one.
Face it, the whinning will never stop. As soon as "The Next Great Flight Sim" gets released, the whiners will just start all over.

I agree.

There are some Uber whiners in this forum that remind me of the old guy who lives next door.
He sits on his porch all day mumbling to himself and yelling at people as they walk by.
He talks alot, mostly complaining, but rarely says anything constructive.
