1st Flight: I don't remember the server, It was doing a USAAF vs. Luftwaffe planeset, and the Luft were outnumbered, so I joined blue and hit it up in my 109G-2. I don't have Tir yet, but I plan to get it soon. Anyway, I climbed to 3500 meters or so and went north on the Normandy map to catch some allied planes.

It didn't happen that way.

Coming down on a P-38, I emptied a short burst with no effect. I realized I had forgotten to change my convergence settings from ground attack (425m) to fighter interception (225m or 325m) I tried aiming higher, lower, and I was simply pissed with myself because had I been at the right convergence I knew i would be getting hits, but nevertheless, I stayed on him. I got his oil leaking but then had to break off because a P-51C was chasing me. By this time I was over the ocean and looking for more fighters. I entered a high G turn and the 51 couldn't stay in it with me. I was low and slow and he came on me fast. I used what time I had bought and rushed out over the water at about 15 meters, hoping they wouldn't see me, then I started getting gunfire from my 3 and 8 o' clock positions. I floored the throttle and climbed while heading south back towards the safety of Normandy. The bullets from 2 enemy P-51's were ripping apart my airplane left and right. I lost my rudder controls, oil was leaking out of my plane, as was fuel, but I was only 2 miles from the coastline, almost there....

Finally, at 1/2 a mile to the coastline my plane was pretty much shot to pieces. I cut throttle and started gliding in for my landing on the beaches. Then another P-51 came on me from above! he over shot me and I fired my guns just to see if I could hit him....

I watched in utter surprise as his wingtip separated from his plane and crashed into the ocean! The other 51's must have given up on me, I was no longer a threat to them. I put the brutalized 109 down on the beach and started my slow run toward St. Mere Eglise.

2nd flight:
TX-OC3 server

Kills: 2 (TX-Gunslinger 2x)
Plane losses to enemy pilots: 1
Plane losses to flak: 1
KIA: Not at all

My first choice in combat was a P-51C. Over the Ardennes I couldn't take a P-47 because that plane and I don't mix well for fighter ops. The 51 and I do okay. TX-Gunslinger and I were on TS and I was over my airbase when he said: "You really need to get a Track IR, man." I looked with my mouse and there he was, coming down right on me in his 190A-9. I pushed down on the stick so hard I started to red out, but all of his shots missed me. Then pulling back to measure myself up with him, I floored the throttle and hammerheaded into a good combat position on his 6 o' clock. After a 30 second chase I had cut away his controls, and tried to escort him down, but he wouldn't have it. He told me to finish him off. I fired a 1/4 second burst into the side of his fuselage and left it at that, and it must have done something because he bailed after first letting down his gear.

Different map, same server, I was flying a P-40M, (P-40's are my usual rides) and I spotted Gunslinger heading right toward me. I evaded most of his shots but his 190A-4's cannon hit my left wing hard close to the wing root. I trimmed out for the damage and then proceeded to look for him again. It was at this moment that TX-Beo took his A-20 and was trying to shoot me down with his 6 .50's. As I maneuvered to get a position on Beo I saw Gunslinger coming up underneath me. I broke off Beo and fired right into Gunslinger. I ripped apart his aileron controls and his left wing. He was out of the fight. I then kept chasing the A-20, but was only able to wound his gunners before he killed my engine with his ventral dude. I bailed out over Soviet Territory.

Hi Boosher,
It was nice to see you on Greatergreen too; I'm waiting for your next installment. I'd like to hear the story of your duel with a BF-110 in your Yak-9T. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great stories Boosher.

Actually I'm about to get myself 'connected' at home so I'll be flying online soon.

Looking forward to being blown out of the sky by human opponents for a change...

great boosh, ur next logical step would be to try fly virtual wars.. such as Bellum (or VEF-3 , Vow2, both new wars which are about to start... bellum address : http://il2fb-bellum.com.ar/
