Hi Guys!

AIRFIX, at long last, are releasing an 1:72 scale model of the B.A.C, T.S.R.2

Heres the link:- Airfix 2005 (http://www.airfix.com/frame_set.htm)

All that I can say is a VERY big thank you to AIRFIX. This for me is a dream come true as I have read about how this kit should of been released in the 1960's, but got shelved when the real plane got canceled (thank you Whitehall prats!)

What I find really amazing is the price! When I was a kid the 1/72nd scale fighters cost two shillings http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Maybe I'm going to change my handle to 6BL-Methuselah http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In currency terms it's 150 times more expensive now than in 1960 - sheesh!

Edit: the Mossie is what I'm talking about.

I have these to share€¦ I don€t like taking to much about the TSR2 because, yet again we let a world beater, far ahead of its time go down the pan€¦ http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

It looks like a Jaguar GR on the second in line on the big white pic that Secudus2004 put in.

Cool pic on the B-17 Taylortony http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I think it looks more like a Mirage F-1.

For those of the American persuasion, that was 28 cents US in the early 1960s, about a third of what Monogram's finest cost at the time...

$1.39 in Australia in 1973 for a series 3 kit. That was always the "Magic" pocket money number for me in those days *sigh*

Another plane that should not of been cancelled.

Does anyone know if Hobby-craft issued a 1:72nd scale model of the Avro Arrow? I am sure that I have seen a kit of this plane in Dominoes toy shop in Leicester.
