Hehehe

Not really, but anything involving more work is likely to be viewed with a certain amount of skepticism on the part of the developer. =]

In any case what I actually would like to discuss is a few minor (maybe) additions which I would like to see added to IL2:FB.

1. Add the following additional settings for Quick Missions.

a. Ability to set starting altitude and speed of each flight.

b. Ability to assign each flight an objective prior to flight. (e.g. escort, tank busting, free sweep, etc)

c. Ability to add randomness to battles. For instance maybe selecting a certain percent chance for more aircraft show up later in the battle for one side or both.

2. View settings request.

a. Allow a default FOV to be set for when you get into plane.

b. Make gunsight/zoom keys toggle-able (is that a word?). That is to say you push gunsight and when you let go, it returns to your default FOV setting (wide, normal, custom, etc.)

That is all, and I sincerely thank you all in advance for taking the time to read and/or offer feedback on this posting.

Hi bully_lang,

The first set of requests are available in the 3rd party program, Uberdemon's Quick Mission Generator.

The second part - default FOVs per plane - can be done by setting up custom "pilots" in the game, one for each plane. This doesn't work for online play unless you exit the match and reselect a pilot, however.

The second part of the second request - toggle on/off on a held buttonpress - can be done with the NewView "button generator" function.

Hi Clint!
Thank you for your reply.

I do have a few questions that you might be able to assist me with.

1. Where may I find Uberdemon's Quick Mission Generator? Also include any tips or specifics about it's use which a dummy might need to know about. =]

2. Where may I check the NewView "button generator" out?

3. Also, when generating a new pilot, how do I set its default FOV?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Bully_lang,

You can find out all about NewView by clicking the link under the picture of Worker & Parasite on my posts. It's sort of a hairy and obnoxious program to use at times, but once you get it tweaked to your liking, it's hard to go back to the normal FB view system.

Uberdemons QMG can be found at http://www.uberdemon.com/

I think I may have been wrong about being able to set a default POV per pilot! If anyone definitely knows if this can be done please let me know :>

I took some time to try out uberdemon's program. While it is very nice and quite extensive...it is also too extensive, imo. I was thinking of something quite a bit simpler.

Maybe just a couple extra dropdown menus and a bunch more maps to fight quick battles on. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
