Wright-Patterson Air Force Base held a tatoo tonight to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the USAF as well as the Fourth of July.

Numerous aircraft performed flyovers (B-52, F-22, C-130, KC-135, F-86, P-51, C-47 to name a few), various military groups performed musical tributes, etc. Polite applause followed each act.

At one point during the evening the Master of Ceremonies informed us that three Tuskegee airmen were in attendance (no names were announced). Many, many people stood up applauded at that announcement. The standing ovation went on for a very respectable length of time and no act or any of the other dignitaries received applause nearly as loud or as long as these gentlemen did.

As the applause died down for the Tuskegee airmen the MC introduced the Congressman from the area. The applause immediately stopped and everybody sat down again (seriously).
