I just bought myself a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro which will replace my Cordless Logitech Freedom 2.4. I'm currently trying it out! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

X52 and TiR2.

I have pedals but don't use them any longer because I'm flying a desk again (cant get comfortable).

Bearcat, i took your advice when my neighbour gave me a brand spanka m/s ffb2 stick, i use it with my x45 throttle and my x45 stick is a button bay, i use twisty stick rudder at the moment and tullys profile, but i will get some pedals in the new year when my bank balance has got over xmas!

I'm thinking of getting a new setup (X52 looks fantastic but I can't bring myself to pay $130 for it, even with a rebate), but currently I have one generic 4-button joystick, specifically a Gravis "Destroyer Xtreme", that gets me through the day just fine. One trigger button, 3 "other" buttons (cannons, rockets, and bombs, respectively), a single slider axis that I use for throttle, and a deadzone you could fly a clipped-wing Spitfire through. Nope, not even a hat button, and no rudder axis to be found! Its only luxury item is a small red button on the base that scales your stick inputs down by about 50%. It's intended for platformers or first-person shooters to allow finer controlling for tricky maneuvers, and is therefore useless to me as I only use it for flight sims http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Some combo was my vote. X45 with PS2 GTR ffb wheel and pedels, they have a usb plug and thats all one needs to convince XP home that they are in fact rudder pedals.

Used the Same MSN FFB stick with X45 throttle as you still do Bearcat to good sucess but tried the x45 stick a couple times. Discovered the old MSN stick was a good deal more worn out than I thought.

I'm using a cheap joystick; it set me back $9.99 at the local Media Play. It doesn't have a rudder twist or throttle lever, but it does have a bunch of buttons--like ten or so. I don't have more than the triggers mapped however, because I got used to flying with a two-button joystick from the Windows 3.11 days. That stick kept breaking, so I got the fancy new one this fall.

I still remember a time when I thought even owning a joystick was something of a luxury. I think every session I ever played of Electronic Arts' U.S. Navy Fighters used a keyboard. I think that may be part of the reason I'm hard-pressed to believe those who say TrackIR is a necessity!

CH FighterStick USB
CH Pro Pedals
X45 (joystick gathers dust)

I spend a couple of hours each week messing about with the 500 available function mappings http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I wish CH would put a couple of rotaries on their throttle so I can ditch the X45.

I've considered the TIR but I fear the taunting from my friends would be too great.

MS FFB2
CH Pro Pedals
Track IR v1

I've been thinking about getting a throttle, but I find the keys really fast on the keyboard since I've got an "ergonomical" keyboard that lets me "count the keys" from the split in the center too and not just from the outer edges. Right now the throttle idea is put on ice, but I'm looking into upgrading my Track IR to a 3 Pro with the new Vector Expansion for FS2004 and BoB.

Oops clicked the wrong one, using a CH Fighterstick, Throttle Quadrant and Pro Pedals mainly for IL-2/PF at the moment. Also have a CH Pro Throttle and CH Flight Sim Yoke. I also use a TrackIR3 Pro with the Vector Expansion. I used to use Game Commander but not used it for a while, dabbled with Shoot! also.

Cougar #4671 here. Replaced all the pots once and the gimbal one. The play in the gimbal is returning, but otherwise, I'm rockin with it. Using the ANT rotary knob for rudders, and the RNG rotary knob for pitch control. Using the micro-stick for view-panning. I've got almost all Flight control commands programmed in. Those I don't have is just 'cause I'm too lazy! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
One day maybe pedals and track ir with 6dof, but need a new video card first.

Bought my first MSPP2 in '99 (dont care about its low number of buttons, thats what I have a keyboard for)

ex-son-in-law busted it in '01...just a lil plastic piece to retain a spring for rudder twist return..easily fixable

But was lazy, so I bought a new one '01, still tickin like a Timex today, and expect it to go on for a looooong time

Love em so much, gonna try to buy the local Radio Shack's MSPP2 that is used on the display comps for games

A great guy in my city sent me his old MSPP1...its like new! tighter than my PP2's..its my emergency stick

Also picked up a Logitech Wingman Warrior (cuz it was 5$CDN) at a garage sale as my emergency emergency stick..I know Logitech's suck, but Im surprised at how solid and heavy it feels

Assuming I can ever find adapters for whatever might replace USB's one day, I expect my 3 MS products to last my lifetime (hopefully a long time)

Never had to calibrate them or adjust them, work very precisely, and feel great in my hand...how can these be made by MS?...More so, how could MS stop making them?...I dont understand, especially since MS hasnt replaced the line with crappy sticks one needs to replace every 3 months

I've been forced to repair my old MS sticks, they're better than than my Cougar and X52 joysticks. The MS sticks have a much shorter and more precise throw. I know others love their Cougars and X52 but they just don't do the job for me.

Plain X45 now. Logitech's most crappy Wingman Extreme "3D" twist stick (I disabled the twist, it's horrible when you aim) broke very quickly but it was repaired twice by my dad and it actually functions quite well now but it's not in use. X45 isn't as accurate though due to its heavy spring mechanism. I also fear that the X45 will break. More repairing then I guess. It's unbelievable how stupidly they construct joysticks at Logitech by the way. Just horrible to open it. Where do they get these ideas? Screws that are just for "decoration"... LOL! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

CH Fighterstick & Pro Pedals. TrackIR3 Pro. Plus an old QuickShot MasterPilot control-panel. The latter is a pig to program! I have to use a non-DMA rig running Win '95 to get the cartridge programming to stick, anything else gets an error message, but 120 possible presses for key combos is irresistible! I'm glad I saved that old 386! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Still stuck with a Gravis Blackhawk Digital. And it's wearing out. Broke and fixed the trigger already. Oh, it has 5 buttons and a throttle and hat. How are Saitek's Graphite Extremes as a cheap stick?(under 20 bucks here.)
