Here's a Russian website with scans of an original German manual. Careful, NSFW banners and ads are present.

What these old manual remind me is that World War II was also mankinds biggest education challenge as well (I mean training so many people in the basics of weapon systems). It is interesting how these manuals (e.g., the RAF or the German gunnery manuals) try to point out only the most important things and also try to make them easy to remember (with accompanying comics and jokes). I think success also depended on these kinds of education materials.

Errr, what's with the pics of the hotties and nude etchings and such have to do with running a Panzer Tank? I never had manuals like that when I was in the service, I mighta paid more attention.

I didn't understand a word, but I feel up to switching to tank sims now.

Effective manuals indeed.

I think its saying things like 'Treat the Ammunition like you would treat your girl. Keep it dry and handle with care' etc.

Also setting up the sights for the correct size orf the target relating to distance.

Maybe someone who can speak German will tell us for sure.

Dang, if I had time I would OCR the lot and run 'em through Babelfish.

Just a few of my favourite bits of the Babelfish translation:

*THE PRESS THE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS THROUGH THE INTERNET*

*Savings of the gasoline*

*PEACE OF THE AUTOMOBILES*

*THIS is merrier with the vapor*

(And my personal favourite...)

*enormous SEX-WOP!*

It just goes on and on. Or, as they like to say in gratuitous capital letters "AS IT IS RAPID NOT TO END?"
