I cant describe how much i hate this mission!
It's the only one im missing for 100% sync,
and i think i have crossed the 50 marker on retries.

Any one els feel the frustration?

I haven't played AC:B yet and probably never will, but the idea of a tank in an Assassin's Creed (emphasis on both words) game just doesn't seem right.
Give me back the sneaky stealthy stabby aspect! Although with less stabby & more sneaky.

well before you use the tank (and you only use the tank for approx 5~10 min), there is a lot of sneaky sneaky, and stabby stabby.

Not really, well, you can, but you don't have too.
I run past all the guards, only killing 2 guards before freeing the soldiers.

A tank is so very discreet. Best way not to compromise the creed.

I'm always amazed at how many different ways you can say the same thing Xanatos.

Good job. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

I haven't complained about the lack of stealth in a while.

So how's winter in Scotland? (probably answer that in the off-topic thread)

I heard it was the hardest one to synch (though some people found trouble with the Thief races, I did those with ease o_o.) And on the second try after beating the mission for the first time, I got a 100%. It was much easier than i expected, you just always keep on the move, but watch out so you have space to move when you're in the tank.. funny, the biggest problem for me was staying stealthy enough to make it to the fortress where you beat up the engineer due to impatience xD.

We should swap games lol, takes me less then 90 sec to get to the point where i have to beat him. Without killing anyone :P

Well it's okay if you didn't have to do al the other stuff (following the architect, killing the plans, running the underground sequence etc...)

Frustrating like the Flying Machine Mission... spending a bunch of time working up to the point of operating the machine then one small misstep and bang Failed Sync.

Funny, i found the flying machine funny and kinda cool.
Only hard part was when the last guy ran off on the horse.

It's a though mission, but I like it, so I don't mind. One of the three missions left to sync 100%.

Flying machine was a piece of cake. :P

Just wished the quest was different, like, "run over at least 10 soldiers" hehe :P

Okay dude a list of things to remember when doing 100% sync on the tank mission.

Use cover to and pop in and out when attempting to destroy the cannons.

Destroy barrels of gun powder to avoid damage.

When in conflict with the first tank, keep on the move, circle it to avoid the shots.

When reaching the fort, destroy the tank ahead a tank will then break free to your left, circle it. Once destroyed a third will break free, circle it (as long as you don't shoot the framing before hand).

DecanDK

The problem is not the solo tank.
But when you enter the fort.
And what the hell are you talking about?
As soon as I enter that fort,
BOTH tanks gets active and starts shooting at me (at the same time, and every time i try),
right or left doesn't matter.

Is this a glitch in my game or what????

The fort is the easiest part for me. Run around in circles and they never even come remotely close to touching me.

The solo part was the difficult for me - some ******* rifleman would always shoot an explosive barrel, or my cannon would refuse to fire around a corner that's too narrow. I'd always just end up getting hit by something, because you're forced into a narrow corral. In the fort, you have a wide open space to kick butt in and not get touched. Bottleneck = more likely to get hit.

With that said, I loved this mission and all the machine missions. I think people here actually like the mission, they are just frustrated at the 100% synch difficulty. Big difference between hating the whole mission and being frustrated with one little aspect lol.

I DID IT! I F****** DID IT!
While i was recording to show how fast you can do the first part, i freaking did it!
WOHU!!!! 100% total sync!

I guess i owe a hugh thank to all of you guys in my post for this, you gave me the idea to shoot a movie while making my way thou it (the fast part i was talking about), and i guess that helped. Ill be uploading the movie to youtube right now, cause there is none other 100% sync out there for this mission, and there is a thx to you guys in it.

Thx fellow Assassin bros http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Stay tuned for a YouTube link

Dont get hit/shot? Shoot the towers where is soldiers are before they get in arrow range.
And dont use the Premade fires for lift, make your own by shooting the ground.

I always get shot when you have to get the caravan near the fort because there are lots of soldiers there and you don't have time to take them all out.

It's a tricky mission. Your video was very helpful. I got my 100% after 3 runs. I do find the Flying Machine Mission even more annoying though ( keep getting hit by those darn archers ).

Nice video DecanDK. From one Dane to another ( Takker og bukker ).

First off, im glad it helped you. It's an unfair task http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

To the flying: Try the things i told dchil279, and when you fire at the guard towers, bank left or right, right after you fire.

hehe maybe i should make a movie of it, i did the flying with easy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I do move left and right. My problem is that i seem to miss one single tower each time. I'll have another go at it later today. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i agree this mission gives me restless nights, especially when i have came so close to 100% both tanks where at 1 health block and my machine gets stuck in the exploded center tanks parts -_- god i whaled like a banshee loool

The flying mission was also annoying but much easier to avoid getting hit, also you have the chance to restart at the checkpoint aslong as u didnt get hit so if u died or merely missed a mark you could re-do it.

I agree, its weird you have to start the tank mission ALL over, but not the other 3 missions.
Wonder if thats a bug? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I tried it the first time and failed but I was only focused on finishing the game.

Tried it another time using replay mode and shot a explosive barrel which somehow has an explosion radius of 200 miles.

Third time was a charm.

I agree it was rather hard, was the last one before my 100% sync!

I'm sure someone has done this before, but in the fort section at the end, if you have enough squares of health, you can reverse right outside the main entrance and use the walls as cover. You'll slowly drain Ezio's health and dysynch if you take too long, but the tank is INTACT. (allowing the 100% synch condition)

The AI won't follow you out and you can shoot while strafing in front of that entrance.

You'll need a lot of Ezio's health to endure it, but since this is usually the frustrating 'last one to be done', it's a reward to pull it off after earning those health diamonds.

Hope this helps

You do not need to use the walls as cover, because the AI tanks will not shoot at you (bug maybe).
You can see it in this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txb6haeNvgc) video.

I'm indifferent -- but probably because I don't even try to go for 100% sync on any of the missions. I think most of the requirements for the 100% sync are just senseless. When I approach a task, I choose to tackle it in the most sensible manner that will likely end with the objective completed, and me with as little damage as possible and same to my assassin recruits. If that means I'm not 100% synced, then no biggie. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
