AFAIK IL2 runs pretty well on below 1GHz machines if you have good vid card and 256RAM.You can fly this one until you get the cash.

A friend of mine who I got into FB/PF runs it on a PIII 933. . .it actually does OK at medium settings when reunning lower resolutions no higher than 1024x768, he also only has 256 of ram. I was rather shocked.

if you had bulk ram and a crazy fast graphics card it would likely run ok providing there was not too much happeniong in the way of other aircraft flak ground objects etc

I run it on 1.0 GhZ Celeron. 256RAM, 128VGA. Works fair.(v2.04). Video settings and audion settings (audio set all to minimal) should be lower.

The thing is to shut down all unnecesary programs, and to have windows clean of garbage. Also, computer performance heavy depends on the number of objects in mission (aircraft mostly), and also flak, ships.. etc.(Flak is the worst FPS killer IMO).
