View Full Version : Hueywolf career update

Well, no new job for me, but I was offered a pay rise and given a weeks holiday( no dent in my annual leave either), so as of this Friday afternoon, Hueywolf won't be here for 9 days, returning Monday 4th September.
Hmmmm, 9 days of surfing, drinking & cruising the North Atlantic.
So, I won't be heading off to Kalgoorlie afterall, but have secured my position here and been rewarded for being honest enough with the bosses by letting them know of the offer I was made.
Looks like I'll be here for a while yet

Good to see we won't be losing you Huey. Sounds like you came out of it pretty well all considered. Have a great break my friend.

Good for you, and us also. We enjoy your friendship. Good also that you dont have to go through the misery of the BIG MOVE. Congrats on the raise, save some of it for SH4. Have a nice TRIP, see you next FALL. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention though, they're replacing this old banger PC but I won't get a say in the new one. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose, and a brand new pc for my desk - cool http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

If it's not too indiscreet, may I ask what you job is ?

Ok, I'm a plumber & gasfitter by trade, worked in the Marine Engineering branch in the RAN, left and was production manager at a factory building commercial gas cooking equipment (gas ovens for restaurants), managed my own gas appliance repair company for about 7yrs. I now am the Assistant NSW technical sales manager for the NSW branch of a national company who distributes gas components to industry.
So, in short, a salesman who sells pressure regulators to factories http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Do you get the American animated series "King Of The Hill" over there. Main character is salesman for propane and propane accessories. It is a FOX sitcom. You made me think of that, and thought it was cute.

Yeah, we get that here. But I can't get Fox, cable or satellite. We've had fox come out but it is always the same guy, always says too many trees and goes. Never once has he got his satellite signal meter thing out, never ever tried any other options.
In a regional area, it is different to cities. The contractor gets paid a fee just for having been there. So it's better for him to say no several times then say yes later.
