This sums up why I uninstalled FS9 from my PC the same day I installed it. Microsoft are to flight simulators what Hitler was to world peace, maybe they should stick to drift racing sims.... My advice, stick to the IL2 series and put FS9 in the bin!

what do you expect of an MS flt sim? I gave up on CFS2 long ago with its built in bugs and unfinished misn blder etc. You would be much better off with much greater realism flying the corsair variants in this sim.

And what fun is it to fly a sim where you cant really use a combat plane for what its meant for. I hope MS sells its sim division to somebody else that knows something about airplanes and has a better work ethic-as in finish the blasted product. If i sound biased, I AM.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif I hate having to buy any MS product and avoid it if at all possible, which it sometimes isnt. Im done ranting now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

FS9 is more for simulating civillian flight, and even at that, it is unrealistic. It just replicates ATC and the cockpit (and poorly so at the latter). If I wanted to fly for 5 hours to land, for no appearant reason, FS9 would be my choice.

For that reason I uninstalled FS9 the day I installed it.

Since some people around here are obviously too thick to understand that an open platform naturally has its share of both good _AND_ bad planes / FMs - and that the best in FS9 are actually better than anything in IL-2 - then what is there to do?

Easy. Gotta ignore the cretins and fly some spins and aerobatics in my excellent FS2004 Hurricane Mk.IID instead, which, BTW, wipes the floor with anything Oleg has ever done. S**t, you take _any_ Hurri in IL-2 and try to fly it by the book, and you won't even cruise faster than 120MPHIAS... and this here weenie combat toy sim is more realistic than FS2004, you say??? Oh the f**king idiocy... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

You guys don't have a frikkin' clue, do you?

That's called ground looping it is a problem in all aircraft with conventional landing gear because the CoG is behind the main wheels. Try locking the tail wheel.

Apparently you aren't interested in really flying an aircraft then.

Try locking the tail wheel.

...plus trim the rudder as per instructions, PLUS open up the throttle gradually while simultaneously correcting for the pull with your rudder. And also remember that some high-powered AC can't according to their manufacturer's notes be taken off with a full throttle at all because of the torque involved!

HTH http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hmmm... oh yeah, sorry. I forgot that nothing of the sort is necessary in IL-2, regardless of the AC in question, so it must all be c**p, huh???

And they say FS2004 is arcade... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Seriously how dumb are you trying to come across? Offcourse you cant take of like that. You can't do that IRL either. On no single engined prop plane beyond the power range of general aviation do you take off full power. Also, why in gods green earth are you taking off from exterior view? You need to be able to judge the RPM's you are using. Also, full flaps? WHY?! This isnt arcade PF where you can just slam the throttle open. You pbb need to use a certain amount of power for take off and as was said lock the tailwheel, trim for take off (yes trim for take off! Not trim to cheat in a turning fight like in PF where trim is not that important) on rudder and elevator and use smooth throttle movements, Its ground looping because you are hamfisted not because of some error in FS2004.

Stunning insight http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Supah, I think the poster was trying to demonstrate what should happen when you slam open the throttle on a plane like the Corsair - hence the 'http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Of course that clip is not a serious take off attempt, just thought it was funny, but I have not been able to take off with it, even with locked tailwheel and trims.I can take off with Targetwares Corsair, with it´s superior FM http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif(No pun inteended,I play that game too)Anyway, this is not an attempt to badmouth FS9 even though the last bit of the clip is a bit strange and funny http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Yep, that puppy sure is broken http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

The aircraft.cfg torque and p-factor both had a value of 4.0. That's waaaay overboard...

Turns out it IS the plane, not the pilot this time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Now do 100 testing tracks, summarize the results, write an essay elaborating the error, prove it with historical references and wind tunnel test data, send email to pf@1c.ru and if devs agree, wait two weeks (not Earth weeks, be sure) for the next patch or add-on to fix it.

oh! nevermind...
