Looks interesting. Good to see Saitek stepping up. Now all they need is a FFB HOTAS.

Thansk CP..

Interesting development of the x52 and the black finish is a bit more appealing than the Major Tom silver.

It looks good doesnt it? I like the way the MFD is going to display game info. I read about Saitek taking a more "realistic approach" a couple of weeks back, including toggle switches that stay toggled. Be interesting to see what it costs compared to the X52. Will the Pro cost more than the 52 or will the 52's price drop?

Well if it had a stiffer spring than the satndard Saitek limp one which the 'precision egineering 'in the ad suggests I might be tempted...

It's hard to tell from that photo, but it looks like the basic mechanics, including the spring, are pretty much the same. I hope they've done something about the non-scroll wheel http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

look like the 52 to me....more interested to the Aviator one

I'm surprised to see the Aviator comment. I can't say I've seen a more blatant example of 'mutton dressed up as lamb' in a long while.

"No other stick is as well suited to the planes being flown on today‚‚ā¨ôs PC Flight sims." LOL! 4 toggle switches & an old-style radio knob?

The improved x52 certainly looks like an improvement - I hope it will be so, and not just another Saitek exercise in 'style over content'.

that new 52 looks sweet, and depending on it's price when I'm finally getting myself a HOTAS that just might be it... if the price gets too closet o the CH Products system though I'll just get that...

btw why doesn't CH make a ffb hotas?

It's still on the cards that CH might do that, but I'm not holding my breath! They used to make one - the FX - but it was gameport, and never made it through to USB. I don't know why. Perhaps the high standard of manufacturing used by CH is the culprit - by making the projected retail price too high.

I'm sure I've read that FFB shortens the lifspan of a stick, all that shaking. But the longevity of M$FFB sticks casts some doubt on that. I use an X52 and have a rumbling gamepad to give me stall warnings etc and I find that works quite well. Cheap too.

One of the bigger photos on the Saitek forum shows that the new stick has 2 springs, one inside the other, sort of thing. They claim it will be stiffer.

I wish they would make a version of the x52 with the rocker rudder of the x45, because I HATE twisting sticks.

The stick definitely looks more solid and apparently uses more metal parts. I hated the look of the original star wars X52.

It will be interesting to see how the double spring works. It may provide a more constant spring pressure throughout its motion. Hopefully it will be adjustable but I haven't recieved a reply on the Saitek forum regarding its adjustablility.

I won't be one of the first to buy this time. I got burn't by the non adjustable firmware deadzone in the original X52.

Got X-52 now. I might get the Pro just for the finish and ability to change color illumination alone. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif For the price of an X52 AND an X52 Pro you could have a CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro pedals. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Mouse controller / hat switch with left mouse button

Anyone know if this will be a true analog device with 2-axes (unlike the crapy 4-way digital one on the X45)? If so I might be kicking out the old Cougar which is getty pretty old and worn out by now.
