That looks fantastic, Ian. Thanks for all the hard work; you're an invaluable part of this community. I can't wait to buzz that tundra. Have a Happy Christmas.

Looks very nice indeed, Ian - thanks for your efforts on this. Fingers crossed that it can be made available soon.

Yessir....that looks great.

I remember being kind of disappointed that Forgotten Battles forgot about this part of the theatre when the maps were first released. Reading P.W. Stahl's book "Kampfflieger Zwischen Eismeer und Sahara", he has some vivid mission descriptions in Finland and the northern hinterlands.

"504 No response from Server .........."
guess I gotta wait a while.
I´ve been looking so much forward to this one. In my opinion it really tops the Forgotten Battles title.

Excellent Ian. Thanks for sharing. I've heard that the coast will have snow covered ground but no iced over seas. Any screenshots of that? Any truth to that?

@ Gombal: Until I get integrated Murmansk and Kurland maps back from Oleg, I can't say how long it will take. the integration takes v little time but the guy doing it has a lot on.

@ Tenneal: Definitely whole world - I want to fly it too!

@ Beebop: That is indeed the case

Really looking forward to this for a long time, Ian.

Any chance to get an idea of the scale of the Murmansk map? How far west/east etc does it cover? You may have mentioned it before but last time I tried the search function here wasn't working.

*drops to one knee and pleads* How about a little taste of Vaenga for our New Year's present... any screenies? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ian, I'm still confused : will these maps be in a future patch, an add-on with missions, available for download in the different il2 sites ? Thanks.

Wingnut: look for Ivalo, Kirkenes, Murmansk, Monchegorsk and the entire Rybachiy (Fisher) pensinula and add half the Varanger peninsula (Norway). Add 20km on each side and you're about there. Yes, it does go far further south than you thought. Would I make a smaller one if I were doing it again? Too right I would!

As for Vayenga - sorry, too busy with K'land at the moment. Anyway, it's nothing special as it was the first one I did. Something else I learnt from - do the major bases last!

Tenneal: the maps will be free in a patch. 1 Murmansk version and (I hope) 3 for K'land (Autumn, Winter, Autumn Online).

Wow, some Norway in there too. The mission builders will be happy. I downloaded a Lake Leskajog campaign for the Gladiators that used the Winter Balaton map in lieu of Norway. Now part of Norway will finally be in the game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
