Hi all,

Yes, I've watched many of these gun cam movies and I've always noticed the following fact: real aircrafts seem much less nervous in their way of flying than what I can experience in FB. To be more precise, I've the feeling that ALL the aircrafts (it's not a question of blue and red aircrafts) can turn too sharp in the sim and make too nervous movements?

What's your opinion?

Cheers,

if you really sit in it and you can move like in FB you wouldn't do that all the time. Also, take in account that the guncam movies are usually from well trained pilots ... less movement is often more (if you really know your aircraft you don't need offensive moves on an attack or the accuarcy will most probably be worse).

my 2 cents

CHDT you are definatly right, aircraft movement is way to fast . Also most gun camera footage is at half speed but still stick pressures played a major part in flight not being so super manueverable. I spoke to Dr. James Young at the Air Force Flight Test Center History HQ and sent him a copy of the game and did a interview with him, one of his remarks were he said fb isnt very realistic but he liked the game he noted to me about stick pressure and said the game feels like your flying on a wire. He did enjoy the graphics and gunnery alot with the exception of the 20mm .303 and .50 cal

but it seems most the people who play want fast responsive/flyby wire controls which makes it arcadish, if plane have realistic stick pressure they say it feels like flying in soup. I flew cfs2 2 days ago and was shocked how you need the whole runway to take off and how much slower movement is which is a pretty scarey thing. Flying online i see why oleg listens to the majority over realism more then 95% fly ez settings and im sure most of his offline customers do as well. There arent very many people who fly full real settings which I find so much more fun but definatly takes more patience and skill and you just dont rush into a fight.
