Just received the brand new Hasegawa 1:72 B-26B/C Marauder from the ever-efficient Sprue Brothers Models in the U.S. Beats the rather disappointing Hase 1:72 Lancs, He 111H/Ps, and Ju 88A-4 by a huge margin. Has more detail than the ancient 1:48 scale Monogram B-26 from '78 which has been the gold standard for B-26 models for an appalling 29 years. Highly detailed cockpit, bomb-bay, turrets, and wheel wells. Beautiful externals, and even has integral filigree static discharger wires on the trailing edges of wingtips. Flush fit for wings against fuselage. Hasegawa hasn't elected to push the 1:72 scale envelope in ages. The after market companies must be weeping!

The B-26 is the only thing that CFS3 has that I wish Il-2 had.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm still exceedingly fond of that little 1/144th scale B-26 that Crown made 30 years ago. Rescribe the panel lines and it'd almost give Sweet a run for their money.

AH, 1/72nd plastic models, what I played with 30 years ago. The pictures of the plastic parts and runners brings back fond memories. As soon as i bought the model and left the store. I would open the box just to see all the parts. The smell of model glue and paint. The paint on my fingers. Now if I want to recreate a WW II air battle, I'm stuck here at this computer. On second thought, no regrets.
