I like both http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hard to say which one i like better as they are both pretty similar. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

SH-IV offers a little more variety in its mission orders.

I voted SHIII. I mean SHIV is great and all but it has some major bugs. I mean SHIII has them too but the ones in SHIV are gameplay bugs. Most notible is the short batt. life.

You left one option out, if you would have included it in your poll, I would choose "I have both, and love them equally"

The only bugs I have with SH4, is the Radio and Gramophone being non-functional.

Maybe it's due to the sub-standard computer (pun intended), but SH4 is iffy at best. I was one of the group to try it a few times, then put it back on the shelf awaiting fixes for bugs, having never gotten the hang of the new interface, either. Probably never should have been marketed in the shape it was in, but whats done is done.

Having put it down, I have yet to pick it up again. SHIII for me.

Hi , I saw this in Subsim.com Website , a interview with the developers of SH4 , this is only a SMALL part of the interview , but you can see , SOME aspects of SH4 are LESS detailed in comparison with Silent Hunter 3 ,this include LESS information on the damage screen( NO Hull Integrity ) NO sound meter , NO radioroom

THIS IS ONLY PART OF THE INTERVIEW "(Due to the accelerated development cycle of this title, the damage control screen and radio stations are SIMPLIFIED from previous versions.
The damage control center does NOT have a sub cutaway with little compartments, fires, and flooding animations. However, the player is given the ability to group several damage teams with experts and more efficiently prioritize the tasks. There is NO dedicated station depicting a radio room, simply a clipboard with the radio traffic.)"

When you think of submarines you think of U-Boats!
The main technological/tactical battle took place in the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas so I think there is where any self respecting Sub.Sim sould be set!
Anyway anybody who tries to sell me a-pig-in-a-poke third rate, bog standard hacked job does not get my vote!

Uh huh "hull integrity" and "sound meter" are verrry realistic. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif Radio room would have been nice for immersion but you can read the messages just the same. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Uhhh no. There also was the Cold War and there are quite a few good, excellent even modern sub sims like Sub Command and Dangerous Waters.

Furthermore many are interested in the sub campaign in the Pacific, you know the one that won. Plus many, myself included, would like to paly as the RN, or the RM (Italians) hey you can place charges under battleships. So it ain't up to you to decide what sims should be made.

Finally, you seem to have missed the patches that were made...thanks to the efforts of good people here and at subsim and a lot of hard work my modders that have made a real difference and will bring SH4 up to snuff.

I like SHIII better because it has I like the theater of war, and I like the U-Boats, and I like being on the German side. most games have you as the allies, and its getting old. That, and I'm just figuring out how to make ships for it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

As Joeap said "Its only a Game!"
Wilhelm asked "Which game do you prefer any why?"
Everybody voted and gave their reasons and that was very cool!
"Who are you and what...?"
Is really not the language we use in this forum

Guys, if you want to express opinions, please ensure you write your post as an opinion rather than fact! e.g. "I think..."

No more arguments please.

I just bought SH3 Saturday. Managed to find it at GameStop new for $15. Unfortunately, I've only had time to get past the Navigation tutorial.

eh, I only got it cause I had enough store credit, and it will help me familiarize myself with some of the similar systems on SH4. That, and its an interim solution until I can update my computer for SH4. Not to knock any of you hardcore SH3 guys. I'm just not that big on U-boats. But thanks.
