Yo!

Ive been trying the P47 for first time: WTF IS THIS COCKPIT?? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

ive heard issues about it, but never ever thought it would be so baddly designed and non historically accurate. Is there any way of making it look a bit better??

Sorry for being like this, but it really gets me mad!

I flew it last night and discovered that it felt like I was sitting on the dash! Unflyable for me. Never looked at details, never had time!

I remember reading a post on one of the forums a long time ago that the P-47 wasn't finished by its original creator. It was sort of completed by another modeler and then implimented into the game. When the original modeler resurfaced he asked to polish up the cockpit but his request was denied. I can't vouch for the series of events 100% because I read the post a long time again but I'm fairly certain that it was written by the cockpit's original designer.

The P-47 cockpit was made so you could fly the plane. It was made to the best of the moddeler's ability with the resources available at the time

WTF you should be mad about it is beyond me. If you ask me, you have no right to be "mad" about the cockpit. If that cockpit is 'crappy', I'd like to see your attempts at improving it

The modeler has offered many times to Oleg to rework it and was turned down. He even had some errors that showed up that were not intended such as the red backrest. It's not he modelers fault he offered but was refused years ago.

look, if i were able to make the cockpit better, i wouldnt buy the game, but i would make it. I HAVE PAID MONEY FOR AN ITEM, AN I DONT CARE ABOUT WETHER I CAN DO IT OR NOT, I WANT QUALITY.

for example, you buy a pair of ****ty shoes, and they break. YOU CANNOT COMPLAIN TO THE SHOP BECAUSE YOU CANNOT MAKE THOSE SHOES BETTER?

come on, dont make me laugh.

YOU AREN'T COMPLAINING TO THE SHOP YOU TWIT, YOU ARE COMPLAINING TO ME. UNTIL I RUN 1C:MADDOX GAMES AND/OR UBISOFT AND RRG STUDIOS YOU'RE COMPLAINING TO THE WRONG GUY. I DIDN'T MAKE THE THING EITHER, SO IF YOU COMPLAIN TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER AND EXPECT RESULTS, THEN YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE RESPONSES YOU GET! UNDERSTAND?

My caps lock works too, mate. If you are so fired up about your 'Quality' of purchases, isn't it your own damn fault you that FAILED to check out all the cockpits before you bought the sim? You think you're some kind of Victim? It's the game maker's job to hold your hand and walk you through the decision to buy or not? Not bloody likely. Deal with this cockpit that isn't as good as some like the J8! The P-47 cockpits were considered good enough at the time. We have better ones now but unless you or somebody else makes new ones, they AREN'T getting in the sim! You are YEARS too late with this "I'm a consumer' ****! The game developers are not upgrading the cockpits!Throw the sim away and watch me not cry http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif And if you want the SHOP to do it, don't complain to the guys who DON'T work there! Do you tell a guy trading in his car at the dealership that you're unhappy with the way the dealership runs it's bodyshop and then expect better service? NO! Or do you think that the Dev team hangs out here all day with their feet up, scanning for ways to improve the sim until they die of old age? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

You want quality? You want to be listened?
Well go to CFS-III forum, watch for it's default planes, the 3D models, the cockpits (?)...And there you would be allowed to make such tapage (with reasons). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Looks like someone struck a nerve.

I have a simple solution for all.

1. If you don't like the cockpit and if is that troublesome don't fly the plane.

2. If you don't like the cockpit and cannot simply live without it or without flying another plane. Uninstall the game; we'll see you in the next sim that comes around.

3. If you don't like someone's post and you think that they are complaining to the wrong crowd simply tell him/her so. No need to go CAP CRAZY. Here let me show you.

Jolulure: We all know that the cockpits of the P-47's are not correct, it is something that we have had to live with for the past couple of years. The original designer has offered the fix the problem but unfortunately the offer has been rejected by 1C and Oleg. You may have better results posting this comment here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/63110913) in Oleg's Ready Room, but I doubt it. Unfortunately at this point in time I don't think that anything is going to be done about it since this series of sim is now on its way out the door, with the entrance of BOB. Hopefully that answers your questions about the pit.

Oh and PS: Unfortunately at the point the sims recourses are highly secret so trying to make a cockpit to slip in there would be futile. Hopefully in the future the sim will be opened up for 3rd party developer, but until then I wouldn't hold your breath.

4. If you don't like the subject or don't think that you can reply to a post in a sensible manner don't reply or better yet don't even come back to the subject. I know it is hard but for gods show some dignity and leave sensible post.

5. Just being a little polite goes along way.

6. You can die of High blood pressure, no need to get all worked up over something somebody said, makes you and the originator look like an idiot.

S!

excellent reply vf2_sarge, if you take this sim or forum that serious you may want a checkup before giving yourself a heart attack, if you dont like a post its quicker to pass it by

It's funny how internet users can spot a 'heartattack' by typeface and caps use http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Since everybody's *****ing I figure I might as well too.

jolulure, you didn't pay for the p-47, it was a FREE ad-on built for FREE by volunteers for your enjoyment. You are not required to fly it. And how much did you pay for this sim? $50? Do you golf? own a car? eat?

I'm just asking you to keep things in perspective. And by the way: I know you are entitled to your opinion. and I don't care if you think I'm an *******.

Good point here, but it's too late.
We have asked for a new P-47 cockpit a lot of time but their way to work is: "we don't rework what has been yet completed"....the same is for Mark-Vc and others cockpit (109 and Stuka first of all....they need a restyling....).

So i totally agree, and now we have some very old style cockpit (109 and Ju-87 for ex.) and a fantastic cockpit for Mig-9 and UFO jets. Ridiculous........

FritzGryphon
02-24-2007, 02:58 AM
Not ridiculous.

Now if the modeler stopped making the BoB bf-109 cockpit to make a bf-109 cockpit for 1946; that would be ridiculous.
