This is the first year in a long time that I don't really care. I'm not a fan of either of the teams.

Judging by the game so far.. I don't hold much hope for AZ... but it's early still and plenty of ball game to go...

That was a pretty good game! I was pulling for the steelers, but the Cards had me going after that safety, and their next score!! It's always a disappointment when superbowls are over halfway through, but when a game comes down to the last few seconds like this one, it makes staying up til 3.30am worth it!

An entertaining game to say the least. IMO, the MVP for the Steelers was not Holmes, nor was it Harrison [as pivotal as his interception was]; it was Rothilsberger. His ability to complete accurate passes while off-balance on the run after being flushed from the pocket is what won the game for Pittsburgh - especially on several late 4th quarter do-or-die 3rd down plays.

That having been said, Pittsburgh was lucky to take a win out of Tampa. Once they got on track, Arizona gave the Steelers everything they could handle and more on both sides of the ball.

All in all, a damned good Superbowl contest.

For entertainment value, the best Superbowl I can remember (last year's was probably good, but I hate the Pats on principle and the Giants because their QB's a Manning-I got no satisfaction either way). This one was truly exciting.

However, it does seem to me that except for the first 12 minutes of the fourth quarter, the Cards' O-Line was held to a higher standard by the officials than the Steelers' line. I was mystified that after that flurry of holding calls in the previous half hour that there wasn't a single hankie thrown at them during the final drive. I saw just as many arms around necks and waists as before...

I agree that Roethlisberger deserved the MVP more than Holmes (whose most important catch of the final drive was the result of his defender falling down). However, you can pretty much bet that when Big Ben finally makes his Hall of Fame speech, he won't be wanting to put his hands under the current Steeler center's butt "...just one more time!"

cheers

Gaaaaaaakkkkkk!!!!!! You had to put HIM in!? The Steelers don't need cheerleaders and they don't need an idiot mascot!

BTW, he was mandated by the league for the 75th anniversary, not a choice of the team!

Harrison's uncharacteristic meltdown was pitiful. Penalties about even. When is Fitzgerald's contract up? Hines can't play forever you know!

..... Fitzgerald is the real deal - no doubt about it. GREAT hands; pretty fast in the bargain; delivers bigtime in the clutch.
