What's the deal with the spits radiator? We can't seem to figure out how to open it. Overheating happens very quickly. Is it a bug or ignorance on our part?

cheers!

Radiator in SpitIx is fully automatic, no Manual mode.
This is historically correct.

Spit IX's overheat way too quick! Unlike real life. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

your flying the spit in desert map i presume. its 130 degrees out there.

normal maps shouldnt overheat as quick and should cool down easier.

HA! He may have a point there. I'm a complete noob to Fb but I downloaded the patch and took a Spitz a ride on the first new map I realized was there....ouu hot..cowling settings..ouu..prop settings..hmmm..o.k. got manual prop..gee it gets hot quick. Then I did the only other thing I know to do and that is dogfight a early hurricane on a pre-saved map.. Wow..I'm kick'n butt. Know I know why...I tried the reverse. Ouch. Say, "Noob!" Answer: " ME!"

Normandy map still baked the IX... not as quick as the desert certainly, but it took 5-6 mins or so of 95% throttle, and then it was near impossible to cool off again. Kept banging the R key in frustration :P

Anyone tried the V to see if it's changed?

I noticed that overheating problem (not sure if bug or not) in the old Mk.V's that we have had. I havn't flown the Mk.V's since getting the patch but given the Mk.IX has inherited this problem, I would bet it hasn't changed. In my limited spit experience, once the engine overheats you cannot exceed 80% power without it overheating again.
