Some time ago i discovered this monument around Bologna's hills (Gothic Line), and today i've decided to return there to take some pics, first of all for the our brasilian friends.

The "soldier stone" is dedicated to the american soldiers who fought in this area.

This about 2nd Lt. John Richardson Cordeiro e Silva died in november 6th, 1944 during an operation over Bologna against an artillery unit. He was the only brasilian fighter joined to a 347th FS mission. It was shoot down by flak and crashed in Livergnano area, between Pianoro and Loiano.

Thank to Ferdinando D'Amico for the info.
